I went shadow hunting at a garden supplies store.
As I was looking at the shadows, it made me wonder why some shadows are crisp and others are blurry.

This next shadow photo best illustrate the different intensities of shadows cast by objects: iron planters, a clay planter, and a tall wooden trellis (not shown in the photo).

I may have to read up and research about why some shadows are crisp and sharp while others are blurry! But if you know why, please do tell me in your comment.
I have come to love shadow hunting. It has increased my awareness and appreciation of the simple things, such as the beauty of the shadows of ordinary, everyday objects. Sometimes, I find shadows thought-provoking!
Many thanks to @melinda010100 who conceptualized this challenge. This week's Show Me A Shadow challenge is hosted by @annephilbrick.

Great shadow photo... It contains such a selection of interesting shadows! I love the flamingo shadow photo,, too! ❤️
Have I told you that pink flamingos are one of my favorite birds? I have pink flamingos in my garden, LOL!
Thank you again for the opportunity to share the shadows I found this week!
Be safe and take care, my lovely friend @melinda010100 🥰🌺🤙
My real life beastie is a flamingo lover, too. I love it when the snow is deep here and people put their flamingos out in the front yard atop the snow banks!
What a relaxing way to spend the day, looking for shadows!😊
I know what the Mrs is going to be looking for this evening!🥰
Enjoy the sun today my friend!🥰🥰😊
I am really liking shadow hunting. I tend to not see the art that shadows create!
I hope you are having a great day too! I really appreciate yours and Mrs @silvertop's support and friendship!
Be safe and take care, my friend @silvertop 🥰🌺🤙
you have such an eye for finding cool shadows ;)
Shadows can be so interesting! Maybe I should try black and white shadows sometime.
Have a wonderful day, be safe and take care, my friend @tattoodjay. 🥰🌺🤙
👍🙂👍
The sharpness of shadows has to do with three factors:
How sharply-defined the edges of the original object are: Items made of wood or metal will have sharper-looking edges in shadow than a leaf will, for instance.
The distance of the original object from the surface on which the shadow rests: Just as with the phenomenon called "depth of field" in photography, focusing on an object that is close to the camera will make objects in the background blurry (called "bokeh" by photographers). Conversely, focusing on background objects will make foreground objects blurry. So, the edge of a roof high in the air, might appear to have a more blurry shadow than a table that is closer to the ground where the shadow is projected.
How many light sources are shining on/past the object: If you shine a bright light on an object, it will project a rather sharply-defined shadow. However, if you hold a bright light in each hand, slightly apart, the shadow of the object becomes doubled and a little blurry due to the interference effects of the light sources. Reflected light can come from clouds, windshields on cars, windows in buildings, and many other sources.
Fun with light...! And I love the flamingos! 😁
Awww... sis, @thekittygirl! You have saved me the time to research! So now I know more about shadows! THANK YOU for taking the time to make this comment. I appreciate you.
Luv ya sis, be safe and take care 🥰🌺🤙
