On the trail, there is a nice reflecting pond courtesy of a local beaver family 😁 The view is very accessible. A short drive (12.6 miles about 23 minutes) from Stowe to the trail head and an easy walk on a raised boardwalk to the pond. The trail is actually a section of the Long Trail https://www.greenmountainclub.org/the-long-trail/. The Long Trail is the oldest continous footpath in America built from 1910 to 1930 and the inspiration for the Appalachian Trail. It runs through the Green Mountains the entire length of Vermont from Massachusetts to Quebec

Thanks. Funny you mention the still water. There was a kid there throwing rocks in the water when we first showed up. Had to wait to take photos 🙄 Can't complain though... I know I was that kid when I was little 😊

This is a bit north of us... about half way to Quebec 🙂 but yeah colors are getting really good here.

Holy cow now its looking amazing up there. Still just a bit sparse over here. I bet the busy beavers come out at dusk sometime. That's usually when I see their heads swimming in the water over here.
Yeah its really good right now for colors. There's a couple of beaver ponds around our house I've been meaning to stake out for pics but haven't got it done.
Wildlife cams should be interesting around there. I even see them sometimes out here, though it probably only shows possums and raccoons scurrying around at night.
There was one at the end of my neighbors drive but I think the sheriff put it up. Someone had been messing with their garbage lol humans that is. Not wildlife.
