There were days when getting cash for daily usage was not easy to come by. Those days, I learnt that civil servants had to queue in banks before they could receive their salaries. To even worsen matters, there were few branches of banking halls scattered around the city. These were only in the city. So, rural dwellers like teachers who teach in village school or community school could possibly spend a day or two or even three waiting in queues to collect their money from the bank.
Technology, making life easy
Technology has made many aspects of our lives much easier. It is easy these days that we can stay at the comfort of our homes and make online transactions to pay for our bills and purchases. The way we carry out financial transactions in this technology and internet era has become so convenient. We have POS vendors everywhere in our community. One can easily come out at any time with his/her ATM card and in a few minutes goes home with cash.
Any Challenges
Yes there are some challenges associated with the delivery of services by the POS vendors. The instability of internet service and poor network service from service providers poses some challenges. Sometimes we could have issues where some funds are held pending without crediting the destination account. At such instances like this, the fund might not be available to the person who needed it at the time he needed because of bad network service. Though we are faced with such cases like this, we are still better off than the ancient days of analog way of rendering services. We are optimistic that governments and other economic related authorities will help us in improving the way our internet services are delivered.
