Una mañana con pájaros
Una mañana con pájaros se fuga menos rápido,
porque al igual que el viento que interviene el cielo,
un ave se introduce en la memoria,
y un día cuando el recuerdo sacude sus ramas
los vemos volar en nuestros pensamientos;
por eso sabemos que hemos vivido cada segundo,
por lo que nos hemos detenido a contemplar,
por lo que hemos hecho bajo la lluvia,
por las manos que nos han tendido
y las que usamos para levantar.
Un hombre jamás estará solo
si alimenta, de niño, los pájaros del juego;
si de joven sus sueños son águilas;
si en su madurez el búho de su razón medita
porque no hay acción, costumbre o rutina que no tenga su ave;
como no hay cielo que se le niegue al viento.
A morning with birds
A morning with birds escapes less quickly,
because like the wind that intervenes in the sky,
a bird enters the memory,
and one day, when memories shake their branches
we see them fly in our thoughts,
so we know that we have lived every second,
for what we have stopped to contemplate,
by what we have done in the rain,
by the hands that have been held out to us
and by the hands we have held out.
A man will never be alone
if as a child he feeds the birds with toys
if as a young man his dreams are eagles
if in his maturity he meditates the owl of his reason
because there is no action, habit or routine that does not have its bird
as there is no sky that rejects the wind.
