Lo que surgió como una semana intensiva de taller sobre escritura creativa en el marco de los cursos de verano de la Asociación Hermanos Saíz, hoy ya cuenta con 6 meses de trabajo, cuyos resultados comienzan a aflorar.
What emerged as an intensive week of workshop on creative writing within the framework of the summer courses of the Hermanos Saíz Association, today already has 6 months of work, the results of which are beginning to emerge.
De una matrícula de 12 participantes entre adolescentes y jóvenes, de 17 a 32 años, hoy se mantienen activos 7 de ellos y otros asisten regularmente de acuerdo a sus obligaciones. 4 talleristas se postularon al Curso de Técnicas Narrativas Onelio Jorge Cardoso, siendo aceptado uno de ellos, Yoel Cipriano, resultado que nos hizo muy feliz a todos. Del resto, otro joven, Claudio Cruz Leyva , de 18 años, ingresó a la Sección de Literatura de la AHS y es hoy el Jefe de la Sección. 5 de los jóvenes escribieron sus primeros textos narrativos en el transcurso de estos meses mientras otros consolidan sus escritos iniciales.
Of an enrollment of 12 participants among adolescents and young people, from 17 to 32 years old, today 7 of them remain active and others attend regularly according to their obligations. 4 workshop participants applied for the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Narrative Techniques Course, one of them, Yoel Cipriano, being accepted, a result that made us all very happy. Of the rest, another young man, Claudio Cruz Leyva, 18 years old, joined the Literature Section of the AHS and is today the Head of the Section. 5 of the young people wrote their first narrative texts over the course of these months while others consolidate their initial writings.
Pero, lo más relevante no ha sido solo el resultado tangible que pueda verse en la formación literaria de estos chicos, sino, el vínculo afectivo que se ha logrado en el espacio, generando debates sobre todo tipo de temas, polemizando y dando paso a su crecimiento cognitivo. Muchas veces los he escuchado mencionar que los domingos son su mejor día en la semana porque "hay taller". Hasta yo lo agradezco, pese al poco tiempo disponible, porque es sin dudas un lugar de esparcimiento espiritual donde vamos sin ánimo de engordar el ego y con toda la disposición de ofrecer y aprehender por igual. Ya he dedicado algún que otro post a lo que significan estos chicos en mi vida, a cuanto me retroalimenta este proyecto y sobre todo al reto que impuso en sus inicios, siendo la primera vez que impartía un taller de escritura creativa, y que continúa imponiendo porque los tiempos convulsos impiden a veces el encuentro, las ganas, la creación... Pero nos tenemos, porque el arte salva, y no es una frase al viento, es la realidad que nos sostiene.
But, the most relevant thing has not only been the tangible result that can be seen in the literary training of these boys, but also the emotional bond that has been achieved in the space, generating debates on all kinds of topics, arguing and giving way to their cognitive growth. Many times I have heard them mention that Sundays are their best day of the week because "there is a workshop." Even I appreciate it, despite the little time available, because it is undoubtedly a place of spiritual recreation where we go without the intention of fattening our ego and with every willingness to offer and apprehend equally. I have already dedicated some other post to what these guys mean in my life, to how much this project gives me feedback and above all to the challenge it imposed in its beginnings, being the first time I taught a creative writing workshop, and which it continues to impose. because turbulent times sometimes prevent encounter, desire, creation... But we have each other, because art saves, and it is not a phrase in the wind, it is the reality that sustains us.
"El Escriba", otro proyecto que estará cumpliendo sus 4 años de fundado próximamente, también en el marco de la AHS de Santiago de Cuba, fue el otro espacio del que estuve dialogando en el panel: Iniciativas de promoción de la poesía en vínculo con otras artes en el rescate del patrimonio local de las comunidades; coordinado por el equipo de especialistas de la Casa de la Poesía de La Habana, Cuba el viernes 16 de febrero durante el marco del evento internacional de Promotores de la Poesía en la recién culminada 32 Edición de la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana. Una mesa moderada por Yanelys Encinosa Cabrera donde tuve el placer de dialogar junto a la también promotora Irasema Cruz .
"El Escriba", another project that will be celebrating its 4 years of founding soon, also within the framework of the AHS of Santiago de Cuba, was the other space that I was discussing on the panel: Initiatives to promote poetry in connection with other arts in the rescue of the local heritage of the communities; coordinated by the team of specialists from the House of Poetry of Havana, Cuba on Friday, February 16 during the international event of Poetry Promoters in the recently completed 32nd Edition of the Havana International Book Fair. A table moderated by Yanelys Encinosa Cabrera where I had the pleasure of speaking with fellow promoter Irasema Cruz.
Hay espacios que aprovechar en función de temas eminentemente necesarios, por eso me salí del libreto y hablé también sobre las violaciones de las leyes que amparan a los escritores y promotores literarios para el pago de las resoluciones por sus trabajos leídos, o compartidos de algún otro modo en el marco de estas peñas y talleres. También de la falta de recursos para una producción digna, equipos de audio, locaciones pertinentes, amuebladas con los equipos y medios necesarios. La colega a mi lado se sumó a mi denuncia pública pasiva. Ojalá y fuésemos más las personas dialogando sobre estos asuntos más que conocidos por todos pero a los que siguen ignorando.
