Glad to hear an explanation for something that is taught to be caused by a virus. Reminds me of traditional Chinese medicine where they would diagnose as "hot and wet" what western medecine calls a "yeast infection". What kind of a study could be done to prove one theory over another? I suppose you would have to isolate a pure virus and activate it in another host. Since you can't really see a virus in action, and we consider it dead until it is in contact with a live host, it basically behaves like a toxin.
