I think this is the first time this year that I was disappointed with a book and I really wanted to see how Ali Hazelwood performed when writing something that was not set in STEM and the results were not the best, in fact it is not even that the book is bad, just that it has no added value, we only change the physical scenario.
The plot of the story is that a vampire girl, of important lineage marries an Alpha of a herd of lycanthropes, to close a peace agreement between species, so we are in the presence of an enemies to lovers.
Naturally, our protagonists as they interact begin to unveil each other's layers, as both have had lives where they have been forced to act out of duty rather than for their own benefit or feelings. In this part if Hazelwood's work comes through, the chemistry and insight of the characters is good and makes the book very bearable.
The problem lies in the fantasy part, of course, we can not be so hard on the author for being the first time she writes something of this genre but there is nothing innovative, the same jokes of leeches and going after a bone, the descriptions of the phenotypes of the creatures are not much, we really hope that this is due to the inexperience of the author, because it feels a weird mix of the book Eclipse of the Twilight saga. And another thing I didn't like either were some subplots that contributed nothing to the story, they feel mere filler.
The book is not bad, it's just not what I expected because I had very high expectations from the author's other novels I give it a 2.5/5 and I recommend reading it if you are not familiar with the genre of "romantasy books".

Creo que esta es la primera vez en el año que me decepcionó con un libro y es que, tenía muchas ganas de ver como se desempeñaba Alí Hazelwood al momento de escribir algo que no estuviera ambientado en STEM y los resultados no fueron los mejores, de hecho ni siquiera es que el libro sea malo, solo que, no tiene ningún valor agregado, solo cambiamos de escenario físico.
El plot de la historia va de que una chica vampiro, de linaje importante se casa con un Alfa de una manada de licantropos, para cerrar un acuerdo de paz entre especies, así que estamos en presencia de un enemies to lovers.
Naturalmente, nuestros protagonistas al interactuar comienzan a develar las capas del otro, ya que ambos han tenido vidas donde han sido forzados a actuar por deber más que por beneficio propio o los sentimientos de los mismos. En esta parte si se ve la obra de Hazelwood, la quimica y perspicacia de los personajes es buena y hacen el libro muy llevadero.
El problema radica en la parte de fantasía, claro esta que, no podemos ser tan duros con la autora por ser la primera vez que escribe algo de este género pero no hay nada innovador, los mismos chistes de sanguijuelas y de ir detras de un hueso, las descripciones de los fenotipos de las criaturas no son mayor cosa, de verdad esperemos que esto se deba a la inexperiencia de la autora, porque se siente un mix raro del libro Eclipse de la saga Crepúsculo. Y otra cosa que tampoco me gustó fueron unos subplots que nada aportaron a la historia, se sienten mero relleno.
El libro no es malo, simplemente no es lo que yo esperaba porque tenía las expectativas muy altas de las otras novelas de la autora le doy un 2.5/5 y recomiendo leerlo si no estas familiarizado con el género de los "romantasy books".
