Hola querida comunidad de Hive 💕, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Como siempre, es un placer poder venir por este medio a hablar de aquello que tanto disfrutamos: los libros. Y es que, además de sumergirnos en las historias, como lectores tenemos ciertas mañas o hábitos peculiares que nos acompañan en cada lectura. Hoy quiero compartirles algunas de las mías, que quizás también ustedes tengan:

In addition to immersing ourselves in stories, as readers we have certain quirks or peculiar habits that accompany us in every reading. Today I want to share some of mine with you, which you may also have:
3. Juzgar un libro por su portada/Judge a book by its cover
Sé que no es lo más recomendable, pero creo que todos lo hemos hecho alguna vez. En mi caso, muchas veces he elegido una lectura solo porque su portada me atrapó… y también he descartado libros por la misma razón. La portada es nuestra primera ventana a la historia, una invitación a imaginar qué encontraremos dentro. Sin embargo, reconozco que a veces me pierdo buenas lecturas solo por dejarme llevar por la presentación.
I know it's not the best approach, but I think we've all done it at some point. In my case, I've often chosen a book just because the cover caught my eye... and I've also discarded books for the same reason. The cover is our first window into the story, an invitation to imagine what we'll find inside. However, I admit that sometimes I miss out on good reads just because I get carried away by the presentation.
2. Oler un libro nuevo/Smell a new book
Lo confieso: ese olor me da una especie de dopamina literaria. Es un ritual que no siempre tengo la oportunidad de disfrutar, pero cuando abro un libro nuevo y huelo sus páginas, siento una mezcla de satisfacción y emoción. Ese aroma único me recuerda que en esas hojas me espera una nueva aventura, un mundo listo para descubrirse.
I confess: that smell gives me a kind of literary dopamine rush. It's a ritual I don't always get to enjoy, but when I open a new book and smell its pages, I feel a mixture of satisfaction and excitement. That unique aroma reminds me that a new adventure awaits me in those pages, a world ready to be discovered.
1. Leer en silencio total… o con música/Read in complete silence... or with music
Aquí no tengo punto medio. O me encierro en mi cuarto en un silencio absoluto, solo yo y el libro, o preparo una lista de reproducción que acompañe la lectura. En ambos casos la historia me atrapa, pero la percibo de manera distinta: con música se siente más intensa y atmosférica, mientras que en silencio todo se vuelve más íntimo y personal.
Here, I have no middle ground. Either I lock myself in my room in complete silence, just me and the book, or I prepare a playlist to accompany my reading. In both cases, the story captivates me, but I perceive it differently: with music, it feels more intense and atmospheric, while in silence, everything becomes more intimate and personal.
✨ Estas son solo algunas de mis mañas lectoras. Estoy segura de que todos tenemos pequeños rituales que hacen de la lectura una experiencia aún más especial. Algunos marcan páginas con post-its de colores, otros doblan las esquinas, hay quienes no soportan prestar sus libros, y otros disfrutan subrayar frases que los marcaron.
These are just some of my reading habits. I'm sure we all have little rituals that make reading an even more special experience. Some people mark pages with colored sticky notes, others dog-ear the corners, some can't bear to lend their books, and others enjoy underlining phrases that have made an impression on them.

I agree with the fact that book covers can do a lot of marketing for the book. But, I tend to overlook it now.
Ahh, so relatable. I also judge books by their cover and smell books but I do not read with music. It's kinda difficult for me to listen to words and also read words at the same time. But your habits are things I think most readers are guilty of, lol. I know I am
