Hola querida comunidad de Hive, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Como siempre, es un placer poder venir por este medio a hablarles de lo que tanto nos gusta: los libros. Y es que, aunque no siempre lo admitamos abiertamente, todos tenemos esas rutinas un poco peculiares que seguimos antes de escoger qué leer o incluso mientras lo hacemos. Hoy quiero compartirles algunas de las mías, que tal vez ustedes también tengan… o tal vez no, y eso está bien, porque cada lector construye su propio ritual.
Hello dear Hive community, I hope you are all doing well. As always, it is a pleasure to be able to come here and talk to you about what we love so much: books. Although we don't always admit it openly, we all have those slightly peculiar routines that we follow before choosing what to read or even while we are reading. Today I want to share some of mine with you, which you may also have... or maybe not, and that's okay, because every reader builds their own ritual.
3. Escuchar música que me recuerde al libro/ Listen to music that reminds me of the book
Sinceramente, creo que cada libro tiene sus propias vibes: un tipo de energía que te anticipa de qué va y qué emociones transmitirá. Por eso me encanta buscar música que me conecte con esa esencia. A veces es una playlist suave y melancólica;⁸ otras, algo épico que me prepare para sumergirme en un mundo de fantasía. La música no solo inspira a escribir, también inspira a leer. Te mete en ambiente, te hace sentir que estás entrando en otra realidad.
Honestly, I believe that every book has its own vibe: a kind of energy that gives you a sense of what it's about and what emotions it will convey. That's why I love looking for music that connects me with that essence. Sometimes it's a soft, melancholic playlist; other times, something epic that prepares me to immerse myself in a fantasy world. Music not only inspires writing, it also inspires reading. It puts you in the mood, makes you feel like you're entering another reality.
2. Buscar referencias sobre el libro/Search for references about the book
Sobre todo cuando se trata de fantasía, simplemente no puedo evitar ir a Google o redes sociales para buscar referencias visuales. ¿Cómo se vería tal criatura? ¿Cómo imagina la gente esa ciudad mágica? ¿Qué fanarts existen del protagonista? Ese pequeño acto enriquece totalmente mi lectura porque mi mente termina construyendo escenarios mucho más detallados y vivos. Para mí, es una parte esencial del proceso de imaginar.
Especially when it comes to fantasy, I simply can't help but turn to Google or social media to look for visual references. What would such a creature look like? How do people imagine that magical city? What fan art exists of the protagonist? That small act totally enriches my reading because my mind ends up constructing much more detailed and vivid scenarios. For me, it's an essential part of the process of imagining.
1. Pinterest, mi herramienta sagrada
Creo que este post es, en el fondo, una excusa para hablar de Pinterest—y lo admito sin vergüenza. Para mí, Pinterest es una herramienta esencial para los lectores. Si necesitas imaginar a un personaje, ahí está. ¿Quieres fanarts? Los tiene. ¿Buscas outfits, paisajes o incluso estéticas completas relacionadas con el libro? Ahí también están. Pinterest siempre forma parte de mis mañanas, tardes y noches de lectura. Es como una extensión de mi imaginación, un espacio donde tomo inspiración visual para complementar lo que leo.
I think this post is, deep down, an excuse to talk about Pinterest—and I admit it without shame. For me, Pinterest is an essential tool for readers. If you need to imagine a character, it's there. Want fan art? It's got it. Looking for outfits, landscapes, or even complete aesthetics related to the book? It's there too. Pinterest is always part of my mornings, afternoons, and evenings of reading. It's like an extension of my imagination, a space where I get visual inspiration to complement what I'm reading.

¡Hola! Me parece un post muy interesante y, sobre todo, muy identificable para la comunidad lectora. Es totalmente cierto que cada uno desarrolla sus propios hábitos que hacen la lectura más personal y rica.
Me encanta especialmente la forma en que destacas a Pinterest como una "herramienta sagrada". La describes perfectamente como una extensión de la imaginación. En la era digital, es fascinante cómo una plataforma visual puede potenciar la experiencia de algo tan inmaterial como la lectura. Saludos y éxitos.
También tengo algunos de estos hábitos, el primero y el segundo: cuando leo, siempre busco música que me recuerde al libro. Gracias a esto, he descubierto a muchos cantantes extranjeros y también busco referencias e información sobre el libro. Sin embargo, no uso Pinterest, pero leo muchas revistas de libros, que luego fotografío y guardo en mi teléfono.
