| Rocznik 2022 ukazał się nieco później niż zwykle – a to ze względu na katarskie Mistrzostwa Świata, rozgrywane wyjątkowo europejską zimą. A przecież rocznik bez najważniejszej imprezy opisywanego roku byłby całkowicie bez sensu. I choć można mówić sporo złego o katarskim turnieju, o jego mrocznych stronach – to jednak na płaszczyźnie czysto piłkarskiej zawody się obroniły. Kibice byli świadkami wielu znakomitych meczów, w tym znakomitego finału, najlepszego ze wszystkich, jakie widziałem, a kto wie, czy i nie najlepszego w całej historii… | The 2022 Yearbook has been published a little later than usual, due to the World Cup in Qatar, which took place during the European winter. And yet, a yearbook without a description of the most important event of the year would be completely pointless. And while much could be said about the tournament in Qatar, about its darker side, on a purely footballing level the competition defended itself. Fans were treated to some excellent matches, including a superb final, the best I've ever seen, and who knows if it wasn't the best ever.... |
| W każdym razie, wracając do samego rocznika – tradycyjnie zawiera bardzo szczegółowy opis polskich rozgrywek piłkarskich od Ekstraklasy po C-klasę. Do tego opisy meczów polskich reprezentacji wszystkich kategorii wiekowych i kalendarium zakończonego sezonu. To są niejako punkty stałe i nie ma sensu ich dokładnie opisywać po raz kolejny (zainteresowanych odsyłam do opisu jednego z poprzednich roczników). | Anyway, back to the yearbook itself - it traditionally contains a very detailed description of Polish football, from the Ekstraklasa all the way down to the C-Class. There are also descriptions of the Polish national team's matches at all age categories and a calendar of the completed season. These are, so to speak, permanent features and there is no point in describing them in detail again (those interested should refer to the description of one of the previous yearbooks). |
| To, co jest zmienne – to artykuły i felietony o zróżnicowanej tematyce, dostarczające czytelnikowi informacji, których, zapewne, nie znajdzie w codziennej prasie sportowej. W tym roku, ze względu na tragiczne wydarzenia za naszą wschodnią granicą, szczególnie ważne są strony poświęcone piłce ukraińskiej: o piłkarzach, którzy zginęli na froncie, o zniszczonych stadionach, o ukraińskiej lidze, która nawet w takich okolicznościach próbuje jakoś funkcjonować. Tudzież o pierwszym meczu ukraińskiej reprezentacji i o ukraińskich piłkarzach w barwach ZSRR. | What is variable are the articles and columns on various subjects, which provide the reader with information that he or she is unlikely to find in the daily sports press. This year, due to the tragic events on our eastern border, the pages devoted to Ukrainian football are particularly important: about footballers who died at the front, about destroyed stadiums, about the Ukrainian league, which is trying to function somehow even in such circumstances. Also about the first match of the Ukrainian national team and about Ukrainian footballers who played for the USSR. |
| Ciekawe są także artykuły wspomnieniowe o wielkim Pelém i o niewiele tylko mniej utalentowanym Andrzeju Iwanie, który z różnych względów nie zrealizował pełni swoich umiejętności – jak również o słynnych duetach, które na przestrzeni lat błyszczały w polskich rozgrywkach i o przypadkach, w których to siostra polskiego piłkarza okazywała się znacznie słynniejsza, niż on sam. | There are also interesting reminiscences about the great Pelé and the only slightly less talented Andrzej Iwan, who for various reasons did not realise his full potential, as well as the famous duos who have shone in Polish football over the years and cases in which the sisters of a Polish players turned out to be much more famous than they were. |
| Co tu dużo mówić – pod względem merytorycznym rocznik wydawnictwa GiA wciąż utrzymuje wysoki poziom, pomimo pewnych zastrzeżeń zgłaszanych przez uważnych statystyków i pomimo tego, że wraz z rozpowszechnieniem się internetu informacje te nie są już tak bezcenne i unikatowe, jak te, powiedzmy, 30 lat temu. Dlatego warto docenić treści publicystyczne, które wraz z odejściem Andrzeja Gowarzewskiego powróciły do łask redakcji. W roczniku za rok 2022 nie było ich może aż tak wiele – a to ze względu na obszerny opis katarskiego mundialu – ale na pewno utrzymały wysoki poziom. Z przyjemnością się przekonam, czy w kolejnym roczniku (który już trafił do moich rąk) tendencja ta zostanie utrzymana. | What can we say - in terms of content, the GiA yearbook still maintains a high standard, despite some criticism from cautious statisticians and despite the fact that, with the spread of the internet, this information is no longer as priceless and unique as it was, say, 30 years ago. For this reason, it is worth appreciating the journalistic content that has returned to the yearbook with Andrzej Gowarzewski's successors. There may not have been as much of it in the 2022 Yearbook - due to the extensive coverage of the Qatar World Cup - but it certainly maintained a high standard. I will be interested to see if this trend continues in the next yearbook (which has already found its way into my hands). |
| Dla miłośników futbolu wciąż jest to pozycja obowiązkowa. Pomimo internetu, nie ma to jak solidna, papierowa książka. Choć jeśli chodzi o suche dane świetną robotę wykonuje chociażby Paweł Mogielnicki ze swoją ekipą z portalu 90minut.pl, to jednak nie znajdzie się tam chociażby tych pełnych emocji opisów. Jednak z drugiej strony nie mogę też dać maksymalnej oceny. Choć zdaję sobie sprawę z przyczyn, które za takim stanem rzeczy stoją – brakuje mi, jak w dawnych czasach – opisów rozgrywek w poszczególnych państwach Europy i Ameryki, jeśli nic nie przeoczyłem - brakuje mi również zestawienia polskich piłkarzy grających za granicą. Jak również – przedstawienia wyników Pucharu Polski w okręgach. Niby drobiazgi, niby w sieci da się to w miarę łatwo znaleźć – ale zostaje pewien niedosyt. Dlatego – dla miłośników futbolu, bo raczej nikt inny tego nie kupi – w tym roku daję 8,5 punkta. | For football lovers, this is still a must-have. Despite the internet, there's nothing like a solid paper book. Although Paweł Mogielnicki and his team at the 90minut.pl portal do a great job when it comes to hard data, you won't find there, for example, these emotional descriptions. On the other hand, I cannot give the highest rating either. I'm aware of the reasons for this state of affairs - I miss descriptions of matches in individual European and American countries, which were present in the old days yearbooks. If I haven't missed anything, I also miss a list of Polish players who play abroad. Also the results of the Polish Cup’s regional stages are missing. It may seem like a small thing, and it may be easy to find on the web, but it leaves something to be desired. For this reason, I give this year's edition 8.5 points - for football lovers, as no one else is likely to buy it. |
