En una de las iniciativas de @ocd para apoyar a esta linda comunidad hablé de mi libro favorito: Mi Desesperada Decisión, con la grandiosa trama la autoría Ariana Godoy decidió realizar una continuación: Heist, a este momento sabemos de una tercera parte, así que aparentemente será una saga, lo cual me emociona mucho.
Esta reseña no contiene spoilers pero podemos hablar de lo que básicamente trata, en un pequeño pueblo llamado Wilson, el cuál es sumamente prejuicios y regido por creencias religiosas. En este pequeño pueblo creció Leigh, una chica que sigue las reglas y va a la iglesia... La chica perfecta hasta que los Steins, una familia adinerada y misteriosa se muda cerca, con ellos de desatan misteriosas muertes. Entre peligro, drama y suspenso, Leigh se acerca al frío Heist uno de los integrantes de la familia Steins con el propósito de averiguar qué sucede en esta familia y que tienen que ver con las muertes ocurridas. Una historia llena de matices, dolor y verdades se desarrolla con estos personajes.
Este libro es uno de los que te dejan el cerebro explotando en mil pedazos. Te imaginas de todos los personajes una teoría que se destruye en minutos. Tenemos suspenso, romance y drama en una historia que duele porque tiene muchas realidades. Personajes complejos y prejuicios; pero también con una sed extraña de justicia. Es un libro independiente pero la verdad si recomendaría leer Mi Desesperada Decisión antes porque te crea un vínculo emocional con esta continuación.
In one of @ocd's initiatives to support this nice community I talked about my favorite book: My Desperate Decision, with the great plot the author Ariana Godoy decided to make a sequel: Heist, at this moment we know of a third part, so apparently it will be a saga, which excites me a lot.
This review contains no spoilers but we can talk about what it is basically about, in a small town called Wilson, which is extremely prejudiced and governed by religious beliefs. In this small town grew up Leigh, a girl who follows the rules and goes to church.... The perfect girl until the Steins, a wealthy and mysterious family moves in nearby and mysterious deaths are unleashed. Between danger, drama and suspense, Leigh approaches the cold Heist one of the members of the Steins family with the purpose of finding out what happens in this family and what they have to do with the deaths that have occurred. A story full of nuances, pain and truths unfolds with these characters.
This book is a one of those that leave your brain exploding into a thousand pieces. You imagine from all the characters a theory that is destroyed in minutes. We have suspense, romance and drama in a story that hurts because it has so many realities. Complex characters and prejudices; but also with a strange thirst for justice. It is a standalone book but I would recommend reading My Desperate Decision first because it creates an emotional bond with this sequel.
Hay algo de romance, uno intenso y oscuro... Que también duele, pero no es el eje principal de la historia y cuando algo más romántico o erótico pasa es omitido y te envía a leer un extra si ese es su interés. Quizás a algunas personas les moleste pero a mí me parece lo correcto, porque está historia entonces es elocuente en su trama y género.
Debo decir que Heist es uno de los libros que más me ha hecho hacer teorías, es adictivo porque necesitas saber la verdad de los hechos es desgarrador, por lo que si exige cierta madurez emocional para leerla. Lo que más me gusta es que no es grotesca, es que no es terror si no suspenso pero aun así uno muy limpio. Eso es lo que más me gusta de Ariana, que como autora es versátil pero también limpia.
Heist es uno de mis libros favoritos y que tengo muchas ganas de releer pero es exigente. Exige de tu mente y quizá la exprime un poco, te envuelve entre sus enigmas y duele con ese final. Hablando de final es uno cerrado, si hay una continuación pero enfocada en la trama de otro personaje integrante de la familia Steins. Advierto que el final es el ideal pero aun así como lectora siempre esperas que las cosas terminen mejor pero eso lo haría fantasioso así que me gusta que haya sido así.
There is some romance, an intense and dark one.... Which also hurts, but it is not the main focus of the story and when something more romantic or erotic happens it is omitted and sends you to read an extra if that is your interest. Maybe it bothers some people but it feels right to me, because this story then is eloquent in its plot and genre.
I must say that Heist is one of the books that has made me theorize the most, it is addictive because you need to know the truth of the facts it is heartbreaking, so it does require some emotional maturity to read it. What I like the most is that it is not grotesque, it is not horror but suspense but still a very clean one. That's what I like most about Ariana, that as an author she is versatile but also clean.
Heist is one of my favorite books and one that I really want to reread but it is demanding. It demands from your mind and maybe squeezes it a little, it wraps you in its enigmas and hurts with that ending. Speaking of ending it is a closed one, yes there is a continuation but focused on the plot of another character member of the Steins family. I warn that the ending is the ideal but still as a reader you always hope that things end better but that would make it fanciful so I like that it was like that.
Hay un punto que me gustaría aclarar, toca temas religiosos de una forma con matices, lo bueno y lo malo. Pero si tú eres creyente así como lo soy yo, espero que tengas la madurez para saber que es ficción pero también hay realidad en algunas situaciones, eso NO quiere decir que todo sea así. Queda de parte de cada uno como lo asumen.
Si tuviera que calificar está historia del 1 al 10. Le diera un 10 porque aun cuando hay cosas con las que no estoy de acuerdo en cuestión de los personajes pero siento que fueron muy fieles a la trama y al ser un libro de suspenso no te puedes esperar acciones rosas.
¿Estoy esperando el otro libro, llamado Frey centrado en este personaje? Sii, pero no porque sienta que en Heist quedo algo por desarrollar si no porque quiero saber de este personaje en particular y su historia para contar.
There is one point I would like to clarify, it touches on religious themes in a nuanced way, the good and the bad. But if you are a believer as I am, I hope you have the maturity to know that it is fiction but there is also reality in some situations, that does NOT mean that everything is so. It is up to each one how they assume it.
If I had to rate this story from 1 to 10. I would give it a 10 because even though there are things I don't agree with in terms of the characters but I feel they were very faithful to the plot and being a suspense book you can't expect rosy actions.
Am I looking forward to the other book, called Frey centered around this character? Yes, but not because I feel that Heist left something undeveloped but because I want to know about this particular character and his story to tell.
