Hay libros que pueden pasar mucho tiempo en la biblioteca y por diversas razones nunca es el momento para leerlos. Un buen día quiero leer algo distinto, en el formato tradicional, deseo sentir el papel y retomar aquella vieja costumbre de doblar el bordecito para indicar por donde voy. Así que me paro frente a la biblioteca y comienzo a leer títulos, buscando un autor de esos que te atrapan desde la primera hoja.

Veo los de Mario Vargas Llosa un autor que siento cercano, con un estilo sin rodeos, limpio y al mismo tiempo rico en imágenes, en detalles que hurgan y develan pensamientos, sentimiento y emociones. Me decido por el autor. Tomo “Los cuadernos de Don Rigoberto”. Mi esposo, al ver la elección, me recomienda: —Léete primero el “Elogio de la madrastra”— Recomendación que resultó apropiada porque leyendo el primero comprendes desde el inicio la trama del segundo.
I see those of Mario Vargas Llosa, an author that I feel close to me, with a clean style, clean and at the same time rich in images, in details that delve and reveal thoughts, feelings and emotions. I decide for the author. I take "Don Rigoberto's notebooks". My husband, upon seeing the choice, recommends me: -First read "praise of the stepmother"- Recommendation that turned out to be appropriate because reading the first one you understand from the beginning the plot of the second one.
Elogio de la madrastra
Es una obra erótica. Un género sumamente delicado porque cualquier desliz lo hace saltar de lo sublime a lo vulgar. En “Elogio de la madrastra” la maestría del autor nos lleva a recorrer una historia que alaba el erotismo, uno cargado de amor profundo e intenso donde padre, hijo y madrastra forman un triángulo en él que la debilidad y las pasiones son de fácil manipulación y la inocencia se convierte en perversidad lo cual te lleva a cuestionar y replantearte aquella teoría, que por convicción te niegas a aceptar: la maldad es propia de la naturaleza humana.
Praise of the stepmother

La historia nos relata la vida familiar de Don Rigoberto, un viudo meticuloso; su tierno hijo preadolescente, Fonchito y, Lucrecia, la nueva esposa, mujer hermosa y sensual.
El entretejido de los hechos le van indicando a Lucrecia que su hijastro no la acepta, ella busca acercarse a él, sin embargo, cuando descubre que el niño la espía lo aleja de su entorno, Fonchito, realiza ciertas acciones manipuladoras para que su madrastra lo vuelva a tratar con cariño, lo que le va dando un giro erógeno a la relación en una mezcla de sutilezas entre lo prohibido y una candidez envolvente que hacen de la historia un mundo de contradicciones.
The story tells the story of the family life of Don Rigoberto, a meticulous widower; his tender pre-adolescent son, Fonchito; and Lucrecia, his new wife, a beautiful and sensual woman.
The interweaving of events indicates to Lucrecia that her stepson does not accept her, she seeks to get closer to him, however, when she discovers that the child spies on her, she distances him from his environment, Fonchito, performs certain manipulative actions so that his stepmother treats him with affection again, which gives an erotic twist to the relationship in a mixture of subtleties between the forbidden and an enveloping candor that make the story a world of contradictions.
A lo largo de la narración el autor acude a las obras de grandes pintores como piso para desarrollar cada capítulo y se vale de ellas para perfilar a sus personajes, es como que si cada personaje de la obra de arte cobrara vida y contaran sus propias historias. Un recurso literario creativo que le permite al personaje explorar la intimidad que describe en detalle la voluptuosidad y sensualidad de su amada esposa, al tiempo que se deja llevar por las fantasías eróticas que cada noche, en la alcoba marital, se despliegan con sutilezas.
Throughout the narrative, the author uses the works of great painters as a ground to develop each chapter and uses them to profile his characters, as if each character in the work of art came to life and told their own stories. A creative literary resource that allows the character to explore the intimacy that describes in detail the voluptuousness and sensuality of his beloved wife, while allowing himself to be carried away by the erotic fantasies that unfold with subtlety every night in the marital bedroom.
“Elogio de la madrastra” es un libro sobre el amor, el placer, la felicidad, lo aceptado pero también sobre los excesos, lo prohibido, lo cuestionable y no aceptado. Lo mejor: te lleva a pensar en lo extraño y lo común de la mente humana tanto en su imaginario como en la realidad.
In “Praise of the Stepmother" is a book about love, pleasure, happiness, what is accepted, but also about excesses, what is forbidden, what is questionable and not accepted. The best: it leads you to think about the strange and the commonplace of the human mind both in its imaginary and in reality.
