RE: Another last book of 2025(The 29th!) - Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan - but ... why?

Don't judge Irish literature on the work of Claire Keegan, (I couldn't get beyond the first chapter of Small Things.) when we have Roddy Doyle, Paul Carson, Marian Keyes, John McGahern, Maeve Binchy and Bernard MacLaverty to offer. And if you're looking for some real misery, we have Frank McCourt.

Sort:

I loved Sebastian Barry's A long long Way

I haven't read it, though I did read Macker's Garden many moons ago.

I plan to crawl back into the loving familiar cradle of science fiction. I've got my Ursula Le Guinn omnibus ready to go. :)

Trust me, there's some great books outside sci fi .. a pity your friend suggested Keegan might be worth it for you.
