- Dos: porque amo leer y espero contagiarlos de este rico "vicio" o si ya son lectores, darles recomendaciones de historias que me parezcan buenas (Mi tipo favorito son novelas románticas, así que tenganme paciencia).
At first I used this time to do all the things I had pending, to give me time for myself and so, now I'm back to my old reading rhythm, where I can literally swallow a book a day, so I feel that my blog will revolve around this kind of content for a while:
One: because I can contribute good/better reviews than I will have recently read stories.
Two: because I love reading and hope to infect you with this rich "vice" or if you're already readers, give you recommendations of stories that I think are good (My favourite type are romance novels, so bear with me).
Dicho esto comencemos: TOO LATE es una novela escrita por la autora Colleen Hoover, a la que le estoy agarrando bastante cariño y creo que mencionaré bastante por aqui jajaja. Es un libro "independiente" (no es una saga o trilogía), que toca temas que considero fuertes como abuso sexual y psicológico y dificultades familiares, aparte de enfermedades psicológicas. Lo veo como un libro fácil de leer, pero que puede dejarte bastante emocional en algunas partes.
That said let's start: TOO LATE is a novel written by the author Colleen Hoover, which I'm getting quite fond of and I think I'll mention quite a lot around here hahaha. It is a "stand alone" book (not a saga or trilogy), which touches on what I consider to be strong themes such as sexual and psychological abuse and family difficulties, as well as psychological illnesses. I see it as an easy read, but one that can leave you quite emotional in parts.

SLOAN: Esta historia es suya. En cierto punto me identifico mucho con ella porque también haría lo que sea necesario por mi hermano y por su bienestar. En el caso de Sloan, su hermano tiene Síndrome de Asperger ligado con otros otras patologías, gracias a los descuidos que tuvo su madre durante el embarazo.
Nuestra protagonista realmente es una chica cuya vida no es para nada fácil, desde pequeña cuido a su hermano (si mal no recuerdo desde que ella tenia los 2 años). Aparte, la única vez que decide darse tiempo para si misma y enamorarse, se termina ligando con Asa, que no es nada mas ni nada menos que un traficante de drogas en ascenso, que termina manipulandola y doblegandola.
Si tuviera que definirlar en dos parabras diria: Dulce y Fuerte. A pesar de lo duro que pueda ser todo, Sloan nunca pierde su norte, no se deja llevar por la vida que la rodea, lucha contra corriente, y hace todo lo que esta a su alcance para ello. Nunca deja de ser dulce y cuidar a su hermano. Ella creo que a pesar de todo puede ser mi personaje favorito
SLOAN: This story is yours. At a certain point I can relate to it very much because I would also do whatever it takes for my brother and his wellbeing. In Sloan's case, her brother has Asperger's Syndrome linked to other pathologies, thanks to her mother's carelessness during her pregnancy.
Our protagonist is really a girl whose life is not at all easy, since she was a child she has been taking care of her brother (if I remember correctly since she was 2 years old). Besides, the only time she decides to take time for herself and fall in love, she ends up flirting with Asa, who is nothing more and nothing less than a drug dealer on the rise, who ends up manipulating and bending her.
If I had to define it in two words I would say: Sweet and Strong. As hard as it can be, Sloan never loses her way, she doesn't get carried away by the life that surrounds her, she fights against the current, and does everything in her power to do so. She never stops being sweet and caring for her brother. I think she can be my favourite character in spite of everything.
ASA: Es adinerado, peligroso, atractivo y tiene una forma muy retorcida de amar a Sloan, sabe como manipular y manejar las cosas a su gusto. Creo que lo odié desde el principio, y aunque a medida que avanza la historia vas entendiendo muchas cosas, nunca dejé de odiarlo y fui bastante feliz con el final que tuvo. Aun así tengo que admitir que tuvo sus momentos donde pensé "Okay, estoy fue inteligente de su parte". De verdad no quiero sobre analizarlo porque me cae pesado para no decir que es un miserable, así que dejaré que ustedes al leer el libro saquen sus conclusiones al respecto de este personaje.
ASA: He's wealthy, dangerous, attractive and has a very twisted way of loving Sloan, he knows how to manipulate and manage things to his liking. I think I hated him from the beginning, and although as the story progresses you understand a lot of things, I never stopped hating him and I was quite happy with the ending he got. Still I have to admit that it had its moments where I thought "Okay, that was smart of him". I really don't want to over analyse him because he's a pain in the ass so I'll let you guys read the book and come to your own conclusions about this character.

CARTER: El chico que todas merecen, realmente cuando lees el libro puedes decir que es un amor a primera vista. Me encanta su sentido del deber pero como trata de no dañar a Sloan en el proceso. Siento que al personaje le faltó un poquito de desarrollo , pero nada dramático. Fue mi salvación en cuanto a hombres en este libro, porque realmente los otros hombres de este libro me provocaron ganas de quedarme eternamente soltera jajaja
CARTER: The guy they all deserve, really when you read the book you can tell it's love at first sight. I love his sense of duty but how he tries not to hurt Sloan in the process. I feel the character lacked a little bit of development , but nothing dramatic. He was my saving grace when it came to men in this book, because really the other men in this book made me want to stay eternally single hahaha.

Si no sientes eso en tu relación, por favor, sal de ahí.
Ya que saqué eso de mi sistema, esta es una historia muy cruda y retorcida, si eres sensible trata de evitarla, si eres masoquista, bienvenidos seas, pero te advierto que tendrás que leer ideas muy locas, pensamientos demasiado machistas para este siglo (En serio, no estoy exagerando).
First of all: WE ALL DESERVE A RELATIONSHIP FULL OF LOVE AND RESPECT.
If you don't feel that in your relationship, please get out.
Since I got that out of my system, this is a very raw and twisted story, if you are sensitive try to avoid it, if you are a masochist, welcome, but I warn you that you will have to read some very crazy ideas, too macho thoughts for this century (Seriously, I'm not exaggerating).
Nos habla muy sinceramente del abuso sexual y podemos sentir mucha frustración porque llega un punto en el que decir "NO" puede ser la diferencia entre tener a un violador suelto o en la cárcel. Siento que esto nos enseña mucho, llega a ser un poquito bizarro y puede hacerte llorar, pero es un libro que vale la pena leer, no solo por lo entretenido que pueda llegar a ser, sino por lo que te enseña en cada pagina.
Me gustó mucho la narrativa, porque los tres (Carter, Asa y Sloan) cuentan la historia, podemos ver por un momento las cosas desde el punto de Sloan y al siguiente desde el de Asa, cosa que hace el libro aun mas entretenido, ver como funciona la cabeza de cada uno es bastante interesante, aunque a veces agotador.
It speaks to us very honestly about sexual abuse and we can feel a lot of frustration because there comes a point where saying "NO" can be the difference between having a rapist on the loose or in jail. I feel it teaches us a lot, it gets a bit bizarre and can make you cry, but it is a book worth reading, not only for how entertaining it can be, but for what it teaches you on every page.
I really liked the narrative, because all three (Carter, Asa and Sloan) tell the story, we can see things from Sloan's point of view one moment and the next from Asa's, which makes the book even more entertaining, seeing how each one's head works is quite interesting, although sometimes exhausting.
Y bueno, esta fue mi reseña de TOO LATE de Colleen Hoover, espero que les llame la atención y decidan leerlo, lo recomiendo bastante, del 1 al 5, le doy un 4.
