Inspired by this I’m hoping to dive into Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami next. I’ve heard so much about Murakami’s surreal and provoking style, and it feels like the perfect next step on this reading journey. Fingers crossed I that they have a copy!If you’re thinking about picking up a book, Almond is a short (close to 300 pages), impactful read. And who knows, maybe a song or a recommendation from your favorite artist will guide you to your next great read too! 📚✨

Hello everyone Hive Book Club friends, I hope you are doing great today.. i want to share with you all my thoughts on the novel Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, and that is that this is a captivating blend of historical elements with fantasy.. all wrapped up in a dynamic love, rivalry and war type story, from the very beginning, the story completely immerses you in an atmospheric and lively world.. which is mainly inspired by the early 20th century, with a historical yet fantastic twist... The author's ability to construct such a unique setting is a testament to her elegant prose and overflowing imagination... I found the first half of the book riveting... this author really excels at creating an atmosphere charged with emotion and tension.

To say that I love the public library is an understatement. If only I could visit this place every day, I would. So I'm making a promise to myself that whenever i decide to file for a leave of absence on a weekday, I would make sure to visit this place.Out of all the things the local government has done, including the controversies, this must be one, if not their best project. I hope the government will support and fund this place even more in the future.

At first her main problem is physical strength, and she had to train hard to overcome it. She didn't even become “the best”, but she did surpass her limits, enough to at least put up a fair fight to help her survive. Then the difficulty was in manipulating her seal, a unique power resulting from the rider's bond with her dragon. And again she had to train. She still has a lot to learn, but that's what I like about her. She's not the typical perfect protagonist who knows how to do everything right. In each chapter of the book she's learning new skills or improving the ones she already has. Her perseverance is inspiring.
But I'll be fair, I think the human characters are fine, you manage to connect with them, you even want to enter the book and hang them... just an example of them generating emotions😂 Although, without any doubt, the dragons are above all, literally. The best thing about all these books are their dragons. And no one can beat Tairn as my favorite character. The reason I love Violet is that I usually want to yell at the main characters, “girlfriend, realize!” because I can't stand certain silly attitudes, but Tairn does that for me, balancing Violet, and making her a decent main character😇

Soon after Ruth moves to New Zealand, she has to face a new world in the real sense of the word, with Nik, a laid back photographer where everything is fucked up and everyone is dead.I was actually interested in post-apocalyptic Ruth, than pre-apocalyptic Ruth.Post-apocalyptic Ruth definitely had a stronger hold on her life than the former Ruth. The author highlighted her character, in such a way that her resilience resonated throughout the entire plot.
The whole thing kept me interested in Ruth as a character, and I kept hoping to see a redeeming arc for her in the end.

I managed to split up the sequel comic to Giants over the span of a few days, compared to having read through the first five volumes within one sitting. I wanted to give it a bit more time and see if I found this sequel to be something that actually expands upon the first and fixes any of the problems I had with the first. In the review of the first comic, I mentioned that it had beautiful art, but unfortunately ended way too soon just as things were really getting interesting. It had a narrative that somewhat lost me despite having so many interesting elements to it that ended up simply glanced over for the most part. Giants: Ghosts of Winter was a sequel I had hoped would serve more purpose in exploring the world the story inhabits, removing some of the personal drama that surrounded the first. In the first one, the story focused on two young teens that had reached the frozen surface of a world plagued with giant insects and monsters, with a material of high value key to survival that needed to be accumulated. Things go bad and the two characters go different ways, leading to conflict later on. This was where things went south a bit for me, I wanted to see more depth. Ghosts of Winter is set a little bit more into the future, and focuses on the same characters in the first as they navigate throughout the froze wasteland in search of a new place to call home.

Hi there, It's been a while since I've shared with you a review of a book. the last few post, it's been of books I was revisiting because I was going through a reader blockage, that didn't allow me to get concentrate enough to start a new book. However, I found a book that took me out of it and I love the story, so today I want to talk to you about this magic story.

It's wrap season. Everyone and everywhere is buzzing with recaps of the year, 2024. Sometime this year, I started the series A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. I've read two books from the series and I liked the first book in the series but the second book wasn't one I really liked. Well, sometime last month, I read the last book in this series. As a way of wrapping up the year 2024, I wanted to be done with most of my opened books before venturing into new ones.

It really was where the legacy of Byng's execution flowered, and I actually think that even Nelson wouldn't have done what Admiral Hawke did. Taking the doctrine of aggression to it's extreme, he attacked a French fleet that was anchored and protected by reefs and shoals, all in the middle of a violent storm. An utterly crazy risk, but he pulled it off and broke the French navy. Including this in the book would have drawn the narrative that started with Byng to a tidy conclusion.
