Hello everyone, last week I told you about this national initiative for the free distribution of books from the "25 for the 25th" collection, which is divided into three installments. As I mentioned in that (post), I've been going every week to pick up a new book and enjoy reading it, which is very exciting for me—building this collection! I also mentioned the book "Música concreta" that I was reading, and I must say I finished it. I had a lot to think about regarding the stories that were missing, and now that I've finished it, I have to say it's a very good book. And so, continuing with this, I've started the next one, which I'll talk about today, called "Viento de primavera" by the author Alaide Foppa.
Hola a todos, la semana pasada les comenté acerca de esta iniciativa nacional de la entrega gratuita de libros pertenecientes a la colección "25 para el 25", los cuales están divididos en 3 entregas y, bueno, tal como les comenté en ese (post), he estado asistiendo consecutivamente cada semana para ir adquiriendo un nuevo ejemplar y poder disfrutar de una lectura, cosa que a su vez me emociona mucho, ir juntando esta colección, y bueno, así mismo les comenté sobre el libro "Música concreta" que estaba leyendo y debo decir que lo terminé y fueron muchos pensamientos con respecto a las historias que faltaban y que, ya finalizado, debo decir que es un muy buen libro. Y, pues, siguiendo con esto, me he adentrado en el siguiente, del cual les hablaré el día de hoy, llamado "Viento de primavera", de la escritora Alaide Foppa.
This is a poetry anthology spanning from 1945 to 1979, written by Alaide Foppa, a Guatemalan writer of Spanish origin, known as an art critic, poet, and prominent women's rights activist, a pioneer in Latin America. This collection represents over 30 years of her evolving ideas and thoughts, revealing how her thinking and vision took shape through these pages, exploring themes such as faith, eroticism, nature, and even motherhood.
Este es un libro de antología poética entre 1945 y 1979, escrito por la escritora de origen español pero guatemalteca por decisión Alaide Foppa, conocida por ser crítica de arte, poeta y gran activista de los derechos hacia la mujer, siendo una gran precursora en América Latina. Esta es una recopilación de más de 30 años de ideas y pensamientos transformados en un recorrer de evolución, pues de primera mano vemos cómo a través de estas páginas el pensamiento y la visión se van plasmando de manera diferente, como un descubrir entre temas como la fe, el erotismo, la naturaleza e incluso la maternidad.
With a total of 207 pages, this is a book with a wide variety of content, as it has more than 130 poems and writings to delight everyone with its verve, a title that leads them to be classified according to the central theme, and at the beginning we encounter a long text by Elena Pontiatowka, which gives us an introduction to who the writer was and some of her thoughts and life while she was writing these poems, even including a third-person interpretation as well as a chronology that reaches up to January 1982, what would become her assassination and how it was received, so that once we know this introduction to the author we can delve more deeply into understanding the words and writings that follow in the book.
Con un total de 207 páginas, este es un libro con una gran variedad de contenido, pues tenemos más de 130 poemas y escritos para deleitar a todos con su verve, titulación que los lleva a estar clasificados según el tema central, y al iniciar nos topamos con un largo escrito por parte de Elena Pontiatowka , la cual nos da esa introducción a quién era la escritora y parte de sus pensamientos y vivir mientras iba escribiendo dichos poemas, teniendo incluso una interpretación tanto en tercera persona como una cronología que llega hasta enero de 1982, con lo que llegó a ser el asesinato de esta y cómo fue tomado esto, cosa que, una vez conozcamos este abreboca de la autora, nos podamos meter más de lleno en entender las letras y escritos a continuación en el libro .
The way the poems are arranged is quite striking to me, because with simple titles or conjunctions that we might see, the real message is hidden, allowing us to understand the facets that are revealed, such as one of the sections called "In Praise of My Body," which has many elements hidden between the letters and a peculiar way of conveying the messages, or "Spring Garland," a collection of poems that range from praise of flowers with specific titles to praise of fruits with a striking perception of the fruits mentioned, making us gradually move from one perspective to another in order to select and get to know the author.
La forma en la que están dispuestos los poemas me es bastante llamativa, pues con títulos simples o conjugaciones que podríamos ver, el mensaje real oculto, logramos entender las facetas que se van mostrando, como lo es una de las secciones llamadas "Elogio de mi cuerpo", teniendo muchos elementos escondidos entre letras y una forma peculiar de hacer entender los mensajes, o "Guirnalda de primavera", siendo un compendio de poemas que van desde elogio de las flores con títulos específicos o elogio de las frutas con una percepción de pensamiento llamativo hacia las frutas que se mencionan, haciendo que poco a poco estemos en un vaivén de perspectivas para seleccionar y conocer a la autora.
Personally, I feel it's not a book to be enjoyed linearly beyond the beginning, which is fundamental to understanding it. It's undoubtedly one of those books where, just by opening it or glancing at a title, we can see something that immediately catches our eye and gives us enough insight into what Alaide was thinking when she wrote it. Like the previous book, I haven't finished it yet, as I've been enjoying the reading slowly but steadily, and it's been very positive. Sometimes, reading from one section to the next can feel like a change of scenery or a different journey than the one in the previous poem, and that's what makes it so intriguing.
Personalmente, siento que no es un libro para disfrutar de manera lineal más allá de lo que es el principio, que es fundamental para entender, y es sin duda de estos donde, solo al abrir o ubicarnos en un título, podemos ver algo que se nos hará llamativo y lo suficiente para ubicar en qué pensaba Alaide al escribirlo. Igual que el anterior ejemplar, aún no lo termino, pues he estado disfrutando de la lectura de manera lenta pero constante y ha sido muy positivo, ya que en ocasiones leer de una sección a la otra puede ser cambiar de entorno o sentir un recorrido diferente del que se estaba en el poema anterior y es lo que lo hace curiosamente llamativo.
