Hey everyone!
This weekend prompt over Hive Book Club is something that is out of my usual reading habit. I don’t typically read manga or manhwa or even comics but about two weeks ago, I started doing it again. I grew up reading slice of life, think of shinchan and some other manga that are mostly romance. However, last week, I decided to follow the Failure Frame or “Hazure Waku no Jōtai Ijō Sukiru" de Saikyō ni Natta Ore ga Subete o Jūrin Suru made. This light isekai novel is still on-going and released their animation back in September.

Failure Frame is a story about Touka Mimori, a highschool student with unfortunate background who got transported into another world along with his classmates. The students are transported into a world where they are tasked to fight the demons and that was their only way to go back to modern Japan. Touka got the lowest rank and was sent to an abandoned dungeon area where he had to fight monsters with his low level spells. As he navigates his way through the area, he recalled the time when he was abused by his father and later rescued by his aunt and uncle who eventually showed him love. His mission in this manga was also to take revenge on Vicius, the goddess who brought Touka Mimori and the classmates to the dungeon. She was ruthless and the one who also ranked Touka as an E class rank hero and sent him to the dungeon.

I got interested in the manga because I still wanted to follow the story of Touka, Seras Ashrain and the other characters in the anime. This is the first time I actually bothered checking the manga and was genuinely curious about the ending of this one. At the same time, the story is pretty relatable and actually interesting since it also talks about the duality of a person. So, that’s why it has grown on me since I also enjoy reading anything about a person’s duality and how the character also grapples with moral dilemmas.

The anime is available free to watch at Muse Asia and has completed all of its episodes. If you prefer to watch this one, check it out. Unfortunately though, the manga itself has a slow progression. It goes around a couple of pages every couple of months. While it could be good, I think some people don’t have the patience to wait hence the criticism towards the mangaka. However, I am not too well-versed to critique professionally on manga. I simply resonate with the story and this is the first manga I read after many years.

I really should consider reading manger again. This one sounds intriguing. I was reading it one time, then I stopped for some reason
haha maybe it's time? This one happened to grow on me,so I picked it up. I got way too curious of the story since the animation ended about a few weeks ago too.
I think that's a good metric
A manga that has a good anime would be good

Among many readings and movies, it seems that my collection of manga is very small. I've only watched one, and even then I didn't watch it in full.
This manga is like a mix of shonen and Isekai. Sounds like a really predictable manga; the weakest becomes the strongest
It gets annoying when people aren't considerate. The mangaka is also human.
