Despite drowning in revision and my uni papers, which also deal with books, I decided to get more books. As a way to procrastinate for doing my uni papers, I ended up scrolling through the e-commerce sites looking for imported books. I was being very specific in what I wanted, It has to be delivered instantly and within a few hours. So, there were only a few if not less than 4 shops that could do that. I searched through the book lists and I found either communism and socialism book genres or straight up mein kampf. There was one book store that sold novels and non-fiction that I was interested in. Initially I was about to get Ready Player Two, until I had some thoughts that it would be best to read the first one. In the end, long story short, I ended up buying The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli and The Evening and The Morning by Ken Follet.

If you read more below, there'll be surprises!

Prior to this, I have had a small exposure to Follet’s work. A friend of mine was doing voice reading and he was reading Follet's work which I forgot the title of. It was interesting and quite descriptive. I had no idea that it was actually a trilogy. Because of that curiosity, I decided to dive into the late dark ages. Since I got the book, I only read about 4 pages and was able to get some vibe and started building the world inside my head when I read it. I will have to review them later after I finish reading it.

When it comes to The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli, I was only going with my intuition. I read a similar book title in the past but it wasn’t from Dobelli. I like anything with the word “think” as the title. So, that filters out anything in that store. Since the book arrived, I have read some of it. My favorite part so far is the Harvard page. It was a chapter titled “ Does Harvard Make You Smarter?” which basically talks about self-illusion. Dobelli said in the book “ That’s why it’s important to give wide berth to tips and advice from self-help authors. For billions of people, these pieces of advice are unlikely to help”(p.6). I think that is something intriguing given that these days there are many self-help authors. There are people talking about how to, but actually we need to remind ourselves that perhaps, those advice won’t work on us. Anyway, that two books are probably what I will be reading this September.
