Something similar has always happened to me. I absolutely love reading, but I take my time to do so. Sometimes I've spent months reading the same book not because it was hard to read, but because I tend to get distracted with another one. I don't know why, maybe I have an attention problem, but once I stopped worrying about the time, I started to enjoy reading more. No pressure, just read whenever I want to, the way I feel like.
And I also have so many books I haven't read yet, but there's a bookstore near my house that sales old used books in good conditions in a really low price, so anytime I can I buy more books, even though I haven't actually read most of them. Guess you can call it reckless spending, but it makes me happy 😅
Really relate with this one because I also get distracted often haha, but yes—when there's no time limit, it becomes more enjoyable.
Oh, what a luxury! Now I'm jealous because it's really a dream for me to have a bookstore nearby. I know I would be broke in no time, but never mind that because, like you, it also makes me happy :)
