The main theme addressed in this novel is the rivalry between two geniuses, where we can appreciate the British deductive method and French ingenuity. This rivalry eventually turns into a display of mutual admiration.
Lupin becomes the figure of the criminal hero; let's not forget that he dedicates himself to robbing the rich or those who deserve it. Therefore, we can sometimes appreciate how much he is loved and appreciated by the public and even, to a certain extent, by his antagonists. Thus, in a very subtle way, he made a criticism of the society of that time.
The work is full of surprises, intrigue, chases, jewel thefts, mysterious disappearances, and other elements that will fascinate you. It also earned great relevance because it transformed Arsene Lupin and Herlock Sholmes into classic characters in world literature.
Personally, I had a blast with the characters' antics. We all read this book at home and couldn't stop discussing every incident.We also identified with the characters' ingenuity in solving each problem that arose.

El libro fue publicado originalmente en 1908, es una colección que consta de dos relatos largos que narran el enfrentamiento intelectual y estratégico entre el ladrón de guante blanco francés Arsenio Lupin y el detective británico Herlock Sholmes en compañía de su fiel amigo Dr. Wilson, una parodia de Sherlock Holmes y Dr. Watson, respectivamente.
Maurice Leblanc, su autor nació en Francia en el año 1864. Se caracterizò por la creación de relatos y cuentos cortos. Entre sus obras más famosas se encuentra la novela que analizaremos en esta cita.
La obra está compuesta por dos historias principales:
- La Dama Rubia: Una serie de robos, incluyendo un valioso diamante azul, conducen a las víctimas a solicitar la ayuda de Sholmes para atrapar a Lupin. La historia finalmente termina con un secuestro y una intensa competición.

Lupin, se convierte en la figura del héroe criminal, no olvidemos que este se dedica a robar a los ricos o a quienes lo merecen. Por lo que en ocasiones podemos apreciar como es querido y apreciado por el público y hasta en cierto punto por sus antagonistas. Realizando así de una forma muy sutil una crítica a la sociedad de aquel entonces.
La obra está repleta de sorpresas, intrigas, persecuciones, robos de joyas, desapariciones misteriosas y otros elementos que se te van a fascinar. Esta además mereció una gran relevancia debido a que convirtió a Arsenio Lupin y a Herlock Sholmes en personajes clásicos de la literatura universal.
En lo personal me divertí muchísimo con las ocurrencias de los personajes. En casa todos leímos esta obra y no paramos de comentar cada suceso entre nosotros. Igualmente nos sentimos identificados con la ingeniosidad de los personajes para resolver cada problema que se les presentaba.
Te recomiendo no dejar de leer esta majestuosa novela, te aseguro vivirás nuevas experiencias y aventuras con sus singulares personajes. Además de adentrarte en un nuevo mundo, una desconocida época y miles de misterios que no permitirán que te despegues ni un segundo de sus páginas.
