RE: Tuesdays Try: Two Books (One Good, One Evil)

in Hive Book Club2 years ago (edited)

I read Animal Farm and 1984 in High school. I remember being scared that this could become a reality. Ever since the start of 2020 I have become even more scared. Now I tell my teenagers to read these books. I do not think they are exposed to this type of literature in their high school. I cannot wait to hear my children's commentary.

I have never read Mein Kampf but I do know about it. I feel that reality and the constant talk about new normal can mean so much more. It could be my imagination though.

Nice post. Now I am thinking about the books that I would like to read or came across. I buy books but never seem to get a chance to read anymore. I will share them when I can.

Oh, yeah. I read the back recently. I think during 2017 or something like that. My first reference to the work was the cartoon adaption of it. It is also really bleak. I had further reference from the time I had to study about communism. Though, reading it is even since you can have a better picture about. Also living in socialism let's you understand a lot more.

I have never read My Kampf. It was just there and I was surprised to see it at all. There were other books on the pile like Das Kapital and the Communist Manifiesto.

Reading stuff like that is important to understand how people could be manipulated by political ideologies. So I think your idea of having your kids read about it is cool. Have them pick A Brave New World as well.

Take a chance to show us about the books you like and have read. It's a great topic to write posts.

Yes it's so important and from different sources gives a broader perspective.
Thanks for the book suggestion.
Yes - I will share the books but first I must take my own advise and start reading a bit more.😀

Ha, ha, ha. Oh, well. That's sound advice! You ought to definitely! Take as a new way to get more content posted. 😄
