Looking for Meaning from the Book of Bullshit (Kitab Omong Kosng)

in Hive Book Club2 years ago (edited)
Hi everybody. How are you? Are you okay? are you happy? I hope you are happy. I love this book. I've been reading this book for a long time. Every time I come home, I read this book again. There are many meanings that I get from this book, this book is based on the Ramayana story. But the story is very different. This book is entitled The Book of Bullshit (Kitab Omong Kosong)

This book was written in Seno Gumira Ajidarma, one of the famous writers in Indonesia. In the Ramayana, Sinta (Rama's wife) is taken by Ravana, a giant king. Rama is Sinta's husband. Rama managed to defeat Rahwana and live happily with Sinta. But, in this story, it is very different. At the beginning of the story, Sinta is in the forest. Sinta is lost in a pregnant state. Sinta was left in the forest.

In this book, the author questions true love? In this story, Sinta suffers a lot from a love that lies. When Rama became king, Rama took care of many of his people. At that time, Sinta questioned the true love of Rama. Previously, Sinta had to attend the ceremony. The lion must burn himself. This is to prove the sanctity of Sinta. If Sinta escapes, Sinta will be considered a virgin

In this book, there are sentences and questions from Sita to Rama. Sita questions Rama's love for her. Sinta asks, why doesn't Rama accept himself as he is? Why does Sinta have to prove her virginity after being kidnapped by Ravana? There is something that makes Sinta worried about Rama. I understand Sinta's feelings. At that time, Rama did not find peace when Sinta left Rama.

Rama made a horse offering. The ceremony brought millions of Ayodya troops to destroy all the territory crossed by a magical white horse. If one did not submit, it would be considered contrary to the peace. At the same time, the author satirizes what Rama did. What Rama did, did not create peace. In fact, the author also questions that the incarnation of the gods is never wrong. It reminded me of one of my friends, that the son of a great scholar never did anything wrong.

And every human being can be bad or good. People can do wrong or right. In writing the Ramayana, the writer (Seno Gumira) also questions another fate. Like a Maneka who became a prostitute caught in misery. Maneka was born with a white horse tattoo. This makes Maneka always trapped in bad luck. The author also asks that the Ramayana story is not presented innovatively.

In this book, there are many "nonsense" words. In this book, Maneka is trapped in a search for a Book. The Book of Bullshit. The book is considered to be able to restore the slump of knowledge. The destruction of civilization that Rama had done in the event of the horse offering

There is a very interesting conversation in this book as Menaka searches for bullshit books. Maneka asks Setya, about what they both are nonsense. And what both of them already knew was bullshit. Setya replied, all things are nonsense, but humans try to make it meaningful. Maneka asked again, for what? Setya answered again, so as not to feel in vain. From that conversation, I totally agree. Everything I have to do must have meaning. Suppose I do sleep for a reason, I'm tired

The excuse was made so that the sleep I did was not in vain. This book is very interesting. Many stories about destiny. Like, humans are creatures who have determined the end of the story. So, in the end, the end of his lifeline was bullshit. In Islam, humans have determined their destiny. For example, about matchmaking. My soul mate has been determined by God, but I don't know my soul mate.

In this story, the bullshit is the story of Sita who has to suffer for the sake of love. Then, Mahakalata suddenly became good even though he had bad intentions. Next, the story of Siwaratrika who became a hunter of sin, but was taken to Heaven for doing something unintentional. I feel this book is a story about a group of destiny. Humans just play nonsense by looking for meaning so as not to look in vain.
