A Court of Mist and Fury – Spoiler Free Book Review

"A Court of Mist and Fury" is the sequel to "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas. A way better sequel. It is so much better then ACOTAR, by far. Sometimes you read a book and it just becomes your new personality. This is what this book is for me. I fell in love with this book. It is now my all-time favorite book. I fell so hard that I even flew to Zermatt, Switzerland, because the internet declared it to be the real life Valaris. I agree with that feeling, that town is magic. It is time for you to read the best romantasy book out there.

This book picks up a few weeks after the previous book ends. Feyre should have gotten her happily ever after with Tamlin in the Spring Court, they are about to get married, but not everything is as it should be. Feyre is hunted by her traumas and all the terrible things that she went through and did during the first book. Though she won, the price that she has to pay is a heavy one. She loves Tamlin, but she is also bound to Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court because of the barging that she made with him in the previous book. She has to navigate between both courts and the political world of Prythian, all while a new threat looms on the horizon.

I know the little song on TikTok, "if I could be anyone dead or alive I would want to be Feyre in chapter 55", the famous chapter 55, but I actually love chapter 54 more. What can I say, I am a romance girl at heart and this book has such good romance. I love it.

There is also great character development in this book. Feyre felt a bit one dimensional in the previous book, but not so in this book. Her broken spirit needs serious rebuilding and that leads to really good character development. She has to overcome depression, trauma, extreme change, terror, the terrible way people treat her and more. So many obstacles with herself and outside. Overcoming them truly builds her up as a new character.

Also this book has amazing plot twists. Oh my God. There are so many plot twists. Whenever you think life is settling down for Feyre, nope, something happens. There are just so many twists and turns that this book constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat. And yes, the last 100 pages of this book will leave you gasping for air and in total shock. To say I didn't see this coming, is the understatement of the year. Wow.

If you didn't love ACOTAR you will love ACOMAF. This is the superior book, and the book that will steal your heart. And probably your sanity as you can't stop reading this book, and then this series. I am writing this after reading the entire series four times already. I have a serious book hangover. I love this book more than words can explain.
