Hello there,

In my previous book review of MJ Demarco's book Unscripted, I talked about the lesson I grabbed from the poverty scam: I am rich because you are poor. In an attempt to continue sharing my knowledge grabbed from books, I decided to reveal another from chapter 23. I will be doing more of this from the books I have read. So sit tight and expect more.

Book Review: Unscripted Chapter 22

Before I move on, I joined the #Hive14daychallenge where I have been tasked with posting daily for 14 days. Sounds like fun, and could give it a try as well. Do not look at it as work, but rather as a game to see how much content you can create each day.

Today's lesson from Unscripted is:

The Luck Scam: You Don’t Play; You Don’t Win

In this chapter, MJ Demarco breaks down the fact that luck is merely a product of action for those who have decided to place themselves in a way for it for luck to favour them. It is easy to look at luck as what his responsible for a person's success, instead of paying attention to how long they have been at it before the success came.

It is like looking at crypto currently at its high, especially Bitcoin, and feeling it all rosy, or you come across a profitable trader who has made some serious dough from the recent pump and all-time highs, and you think it is that easy. What you are not seeing at that moment is what things were bad when people lost their fortunes with filled red blood strains from the presence of the bear market. It is not easy to be informed in crypto; there are downtimes, and when they come, it looks like they will never leave. You have to prepare for this as well, and when it is all rosy, you have to enjoy it while it lasts.

In today's world, it is quite easy to get carried away by the social media attention, likes, and comment distractions into thinking those successful people you see and like probably had luck on their side, unlike you. Trust me it can be easy to see and compare yourself to people and social media has done a good job at making that a whole lot easier for us to do so. I have come across posts from guys who make it look easy to trade crypto with the fancy cars and luxurious houses, but now I know that is not always the case.

The luck comes from the constant failures and tries. The ability to keep going even when the going gets tough to bear. The facing of hurdles and challenges without giving up, regardless. This is what it means to be truly lucky. When you finally get that win despite the numerous failures you have encountered in the past. Your mindset at luck should be fixated on getting it when you position yourself to attain it. It can not be attained when you sit back and do nothing. How can you win the lottery if you never buy the ticket. How can you become good at chess if you never play a chess game?

Like they say, fortune favours the bold, but this time the bold are those who put themselves out there and keep going despite setbacks and challenges. Position yourself for luck by taking more action and fewer complaints. Try it out and see how it plays out. The luck might just come from the struggle you encounter while on the journey.

If you do not take it from me, take it from MJ Demarco, the author of the book. Until next time. See you soon.

In order words, despite it all be consistent! Keep going at it to create that chance of luck. Hehe. This could mean that pure luck is as a result of constant motion.

Tell me how do one get to roll double six?

No idea. If in context of ludo then it is entirely luck. However, I don’t see it that way in the game of life. Honestly…

The answer is in your last comment. You keep throwing basically, you’d hit the lucky number at some point.

Success often stems from taking chances and luck plays a role when we seize opportunities and put in the effort. You won't know until you try.
