Happy Book Day! I was waiting for my book and my rose yesterday, but that's okay. Anyway, this post is a letter to thank the books, the authors, and the characters that have been with me since I was a little girl. Obviously, this post should have been published yesterday, but due to health problems I had to postpone it until today. It is still valid.
That is why today I have decided to pay tribute to the sagas that have accompanied me in my life because thanks to them, I can survive every day.

¡Feliz Día del Libro! Ayer me quedé esperando mi libro y mi rosa el día de hoy, pero no pasa nada. Igual esta publicación es una carta para agradecer a los libros, a los autores y a los personajes que me han acompañado desde que era una niña. Obviamente, esta publicación debió haber salido ayer, pero por problemas de salud tuve que dejarla para hoy. Igual es válido.
Es por esto que hoy he decidido hacer un homenaje a las sagas que me han acompañado en mi vida porque gracias a estos, puedo sobrevivir cada día.
1. The Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien
I knew Tolkien's work when I was a little girl, I was in my teens when I had The Fellowship of the Ring in my hands. When the movies arrived I was the most fanatic, I went on the internet every day, I searched for information, I printed the images from the official website. I read and reread this book many times, I have many years without reading it, but I have to thank a lot beyond, because these characters created by the father of fantasy, Tolkien, I consider them my friends. And his work, has left in me, not only the great love I feel for books, but also the great passion I feel for the genre.

1. El señor de los anillos. J.R.R. Tolkien
Conocí la obra de Tolkien cuando era pequeña, estaba en plena adolescencia cuando tuve La Comunidad del Anillo en mis manos. Cuando llegaron las películas era la más fanática, entraba a internet cada día, buscaba información, imprimía las imágenes de la página oficial. Leí y releí este libro muchas veces, tengo muchos años sin leerlo, pero debo agradecer mucho más allá, porque estos personajes creados por el padre de la fantasía, Tolkien, los considero mis amigos. Y su obra, ha dejado en mí, no solo el gran amor que siento por los libros, sino que también la gran pasión que siento por el género.
2. Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling
I remember when my mother came back from a trip to visit my grandparents, and discovered that my cousin was reading a book sent to her at school: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. An orphan boy had discovered he was a wizard and had been admitted to Hogwarts: the school of magical wizardry. I was a senior in high school, about 15 years old, when I started reading it. It was the first book I remember staying up all night reading.
I don't know if Harry Potter and his friends grew up with me, or I grew up with Harry Potter, but every year I looked forward to the new book, and likewise, the release of the movies. I must admit that I was one of those who despised Harry Potter because I said that Lord of the Rings was better. After the saga ended, I was already a full-fledged adult, and with the maturity that was coming into me, I had to stop thinking in those absurd terms of putting the sagas in competition. And I was glad to know I was a Potterhead and be a true fan and enjoy all the magic of Rowling's world.

Recuerdo cuando mi madre llegó de un viaje que hizo para visitar a mis abuelos, y descubrió que mi prima estaba leyendo un libro que le enviaron en el colegio: Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal. Un niño huérfano había descubierto que era un mago y que lo habían admitido en la Hogwarts: la escuela de magia hechicería. Yo estaba en el último año de bachillerato, tendría como 15 años cuando empecé a leerlo. Fue el primer libro por el recuerdo haberme desvelado leyendo.
No sé si Harry Potter y sus amigos crecieron conmigo o yo crecí con Harry Potter, pero cada año esperaba con ansias el libro nuevo, y así mismo, el estreno de las películas. Debo admitir que yo era una de esas que despreciaba a Harry Potter porque decía que El señor de los anillos era mejor. Después de que terminara la saga, yo ya era una adulta con todas las de la ley, y con la madurez que llegaba en mí, tuve que dejar de pensar en esos términos absurdos de poner a competir las sagas y me alegré de saberme Potterhead y ser una auténtica fanática y disfrutar de toda la magia del mundo de Rowling.
3. Song of Ice and Fire. George Martin
After there were no more Harry Potter movies, vampire and dystopia sagas were booming, I read them all, because I never despise a book. But the good HBO launched a series that would change everything and much: Game of Thrones, I ate the first season like a good fantasy lover. And after watching the best ending of a season as never seen before, my brother and I decided to order the books through Amazon, the first 4 arrived, and we pre-ordered the fifth one, which arrived a month later. We were happy.
I didn't understand anything I read, the ones that were good, and some good ones that seemed bad, some bad ones that were very good and various points of view. In my life, until that moment, I had never read anything like that. The best: dragons! If anything has dragons in it, I'll be reading it for sure. After almost 13 years, we are still waiting for the outcome of the books, because most of us were not satisfied with the direction the series took, but we can't compare because Martin still hasn't finished writing!!!! I'm still waiting patiently, and in the meantime, I'm still falling in love with new reads.

3. Canción de Hielo y Fuego. George Martin
Después de que ya no hubiera más películas de Harry Potter, estaban en auge las sagas de vampiros y distopías, me los leí todos, porque nunca desprecio un libro. Pero el buen HBO lanzó una serie que cambiaría todo y mucho: Game of Thrones, me comí la primera temporada como toda una buena amante de la fantasía. Y después de ver el mejor final de una temporada como nunca antes se había visto, mi hermano y yo decidimos pedir los libros por Amazon, llegaron los 4 primeros y pre ordenamos el quinto, que llegó un mes después. Estábamos felices.
No entendía nada de lo que leía, los que eran buenos, y otros buenos que parecían malos, unos malos que eran muy buenos y varios puntos de vista. En mi vida, hasta ese momento, había leído algo así. Lo mejor: ¡dragones! Si algo tiene dragones, yo lo estaré leyendo seguramente. Después de casi 13 años, aún esperamos el desenlace de los libros, porque la mayoría no quedamos satisfechos con el rumbo que tomó la serie, pero no podemos comparar porque ¡¡Martin aún no termina de escribir!! Aún espero con paciencia, y mientras tanto, me sigo enamorando de nuevas lecturas.
4. Chronicles of the Kingkiller. Patrick Rothfuss.
I kept searching through a sea of fantasy books, and came across a red-headed Kvothe written by Rothfuss, with a masterful way of describing magic. The Name of the Wind was another one of those reads that I got caught up in without wanting to stop reading. Romance, magic, a fantastic world and another saga that they still haven't finished writing, Why am I like this? Only two wonderful books in, and I want more.
The author also has many years writing the third installment, and I made the decision not to read anything that wasn't finished (I lied, I'm reading Fourth Wing 🤭).

4. Crónicas del asesino de reyes. Patrick Rothfuss
Segui buscando entre un mar de libros fantásticos, y me encontré con un pelirrojo llamado Kvothe escrito por Rothfuss, con una manera de describir la magia de manera magistral. El nombre del viento fue otra de esas lecturas en las que me vi envuelta sin querer dejar de leer. Romance, magia, un mundo fantástico y otra saga que aún no terminan de escribir ¿Por qué soy así? Solo van dos maravillosos libros, y quiero más. El autor también tiene muchos años escribiendo la tercera entrega, y yo tomé la decisión de no leer nada que no estuviera terminado (mentí, me estoy leyendo Fourth Wing 🤭).
5. The wheel of time. Robert Jordan.
I don't think three months ago I would have dared to add this saga to this list. The reason? I still wasn't convinced. The Wheel of Time is a 14 book saga, the first two books were enjoyable, but the third was so slow, I had a hard time chewing it. But I gave it another chance, and as of today, reading the fourth, I decided it must be on this list, what a spectacular book. I love the magic, how the characters unfold, and I already have my favorites. It's long, slow, but a wonderful work, that you have to know how to gently gobble up. We have to love the fantasy genre to read it. Jordan, sadly, was diagnosed with a terminal illness, but spent the last years of his life dedicated to finishing the saga, which was originally going to make twelve books. He was unable to see his work finished, but the great Sanderson took everything he had written at the behest of Jordan's widow, and managed to bring the work to a conclusion (I hope so too). I haven't finished the fourth installment yet, I hope to finish it between now and tomorrow, but I know that this year, if or if not, I will read the whole thing, even if I don't sleep.
I have one more saga planned to add to the saga list (I hope): Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I love him, I've already read a couple of books by him, and I feel like I won't end up disappointed. How about you, do you have favorite sagas?

5. La rueda del tiempo. Robert Jordan
Creo que hace tres meses no me habría atrevido a agregar esta saga a esta lista. ¿La razón? Aún no estaba convencida. La rueda del tiempo es una saga de 14 libros, los dos primeros fueron agradables, pero el tercero fue tan lento, que me costó mucho masticarlo. Pero le di otra oportunidad, y al día de hoy, leyendo el cuarto, decidí que debe estar en esta lista, qué libro tan espectacular. Amo la magia, como se van desenvolviendo los personajes, y ya tengo mis favoritos. Es larga, lenta, pero una obra maravillosa, que hay que saber engullir con delicadeza. Hay que amar el género de fantasía para poder leerlo. Jordan, lamentablemente, fue diagnosticado con una enfermedad terminal, pero pasó los últimos años de su vida dedicados a terminar la saga, que en principio iban a hacer doce libros. No pudo ver terminado su trabajo, pero el gran Sanderson tomó todo lo que había escrito por orden de la viuda de Jordan, y logró darle conclusión a la obra (yo también espero). Aún no he terminado la cuarta entrega, espero terminarlo entre hoy y mañana, pero sé que este año, si o sí, me la leo completa, aunque no duerma.
Tengo una saga más prevista para añadir a la lista de sagas (espero): Mistborn de Brandon Sanderson. Lo amo, ya me he leído un par de libros de él, y siento que no voy a terminar decepcionada. ¿Y tú? ¿Tienes sagas favoritas?
Leyéndote siento que me he perdido un siglo de divinas escrituras, tal vez porque me fue más fácil consumir las películas que los libros,igual soy de la generación del papel y no de los libros digitales... aún así me atreví con Juego de Tronos y me pasó otro tanto, no entendía lo que leía, era un hecho que no podía superar la serie en TV, por lo demás eres una lectora muy empedernida, Felicidades

Uy amiga como as leído, me parece una magnífica manera de enrriquecer nuestro vocabulario, te recomiendo leer, " hasta que nos quedemos sin estrellas " de Irma Rubiales.

Ah sí, me lo leí. Creo que le hice la reseña. Estuvo linda. Estos que están aquí son mis favoritos de la vida, pero sí, he leído bastantes, vamos a ver en cuanto suben la cantidad de libros leídos este año.
