At the risk of sounding too curmudgeonly or antiquated... I would rather read a book, and I hope this doesn't become the standard path for libraries everywhere. I don't think people have become smarter-- or even more interested in learning-- since the advent of these technologies, so we should retrace our steps and get back to basics. I could be in a tiny minority, but it's worth a conversation. :)

I understand your point of view and even agree with it on some aspects. However, I think the technological future is unavoidable because things are going to evolve.

On the other hand, I think the simplest libraries will not cease to exist completely, because there will always be someone who will want that more "rustic" look, with the printed books and that atmosphere that is already traditional.
