Primero una breve historia personal. Hace alrededor de un par de años, casi tres en realidad. Mi mejor amiga me hizo un maravilloso obsequio por mi cumpleaños número 18, que atesoraré hasta el fin de mi existencia, con unas dedicatorias preciosas que adjuntare a continuación.
Esta muy propia de ella, pues así expresa su amor. Sí, es una dulzura.
First a brief personal story. About a couple of years ago, almost three actually. My best friend gave me a wonderful gift for my 18th birthday, which I will treasure until the end of my existence, with some beautiful dedications that I will attach below.
This is very characteristic of her, for this is how she expresses her love. Yes, she is a sweetheart.
Y esta otra, en la cual quiero hacer hincapié pues ya lo raye, ame, di vida y deje mi huella en él, pero a esta última aun considero que le faltan detalles. En esta oportunidad elegí básicamente hacer una reseña de (en lo que a mi concierne), una tremenda obra de arte digna de cualquier museo y que debe perdurar para siempre en la historia. Porque además… ¿qué mejor manera de seguir dándole vida y a la vez dejar huella en él? Exactamente, haciendo un post sobre él. Y sí, estoy hablando del diario de Ana Frank.
And this other one, which I want to emphasize because I already scratched it, loved it, gave it life and left my mark on it, but this last one I still consider that it lacks details.In this opportunity I basically chose to make a review of (as far as I am concerned), a tremendous work of art worthy of any museum and that should last forever in history. Because... what better way to continue giving it life and at the same time leave a mark on it? Exactly, by making a post about it. And yes, I'm talking about Anne Frank's diary.
Quisiera poder comenzar con la sencillez de esta obra y de la autora en esencia, lo que se puede apreciar justo cuando dice: “Tengo en más estima mis recuerdos que mis vestidos” eso que la caracteriza. Pues es un diario, tan sencillo como eso. Simplemente un refugio de una pequeña judía que en ese entonces era perseguida junto con su familia, por los nazis. Como si ser judío era el peor de los crímenes. Es increíble porque se notan todos los cambios de actitud desde la niñez a la adolescencia, esa transición sutil pero a la vez marcada de que el personaje es un ser consciente de sus emociones y a su vez de todo lo que sucede en el exterior.

For it is a diary, as simple as that. Simply a refuge of a little Jewish girl who at that time was persecuted along with her family by the Nazis. It is incredible because you can see all the changes in attitude from childhood to adolescence, that subtle but at the same time marked transition that the character is a being aware of his emotions and at the same time of everything that happens on the outside.
Lo que me lleva al segundo punto a expresar el día de hoy, que es ese optimismo que siempre lleva consigo en cada adversidad que la toca, que aunque a veces flaquea nunca la abandona del todo. A pesar de lo tortuoso del camino que le toca vivir ella siempre ve esa luz a final del túnel, esa esperanza. Y empatía que naturalmente siente hacia los demás, aun estando en tan deplorables situaciones, en las que cualquier ser humano hubiera renegado de lo que era, sin embargo, ni una vez una vez se lee que rechaza sus raíces o renunciando a su identidad. Otro punto bastante importante en cuanto a lectura es nutrirse, de cualquier forma. Me gusta utilizar la analogía de que en un universo paralelo quizás somos plantitas y que todo lo que leemos o todo lo que tomamos como base de conocimientos, es el agua y energía solar, eso que nos proporciona carácter, vitalidad, inteligencia y fortaleza. En este sentido, está de más decir que tocan temas alrededor de lo que fue el holocausto, lo cual fue un hecho histórico terrible del que, inclusive en la actualidad se sigue hablando. Fue espantoso, millones de muertes. Pero parte de la historia aun así. Y este libro al estar ambientado en esa época, proporciona datos impresionantes de este tema.

Por último es conveniente acotar que su vida nunca se detuvo, este personaje siguió adelante con su educación y su forma de vida (dentro de lo que cabe) intentando que nada más la hiciese sentir miserable, lo a mí me pareció de admirar. Porque para ella no existía cosa peor que la ignorancia, era uno de los peores castigos. Así como también sucedía que veía los libros como principal fuente de entretenimiento, lo expresa así con la frase: “Las personas libres jamás podrán entender lo que los libros significan para quienes viven encerrados"

Because for her there was nothing worse than ignorance, it was one of the worst punishments. En definitiva y para ser lo más objetiva posible, se me hace difícil admitir que ese diario lo escribió una adolescente de 13-14 años, pero…
- No sé con total exactitud cómo fue la educación de los alemanes de ese entonces, no sé el nivel académico que poseían y que tan marcado tenían todos los criterios de la vida adulta siendo así de chicos. Y
- Es muy sabido que si una editorial toma alguna obra, le harán algunas correcciones para mejorarla y hacerla acorde para poder por fin publicarla.
In short, and to be as objective as possible, it is difficult for me to admit that this diary was written by a 13-14 years old teenager, but...

Sea como sea (y dejando de lado el valor sentimental que este libro tiene para mi) lo recomiendo al 100 por ciento, está dentro de mis escritos favoritos. Es mucho lo que tiene que ofrecer, un texto sobrio que deja en evidencia que en muchos casos existen seres capaces de trascender y pasar de generación en generación toda esa magia que llevan dentro, todos esos valores e ideales firmes que nadie logra corromper, ese brío de querer vivir la vida pese a todo grito de desmoralización, y que a veces sin siquiera tener la intención o sin siquiera darse cuenta de ello se convierten en el rostro de una rebelión, de una esperanza. Sin vacilación me atrevo a decir que eso es lo más significativo.
Be that as it may (and leaving aside the sentimental value that this book has for me) I recommend it 100 percent, it is among my favorite writings. It has a lot to offer, a sober text that shows that in many cases there are beings capable of transcending and passing from generation to generation all that magic they carry inside, all those values and firm ideals that no one manages to corrupt, that verve of wanting to live life despite every cry of demoralization, and that sometimes without even having the intention or without even realizing it, they become the face of a rebellion, of a hope. Without hesitation I dare say that this is the most significant thing.
Este libro también es de mis favoritos. Ana Frank era una niña muy madura para su edad, la educación que le fue impartida tanto en su hogar como en la escuela fueron las que sentaron las bases para que desarrollara un pensamiento tan amplio de la vida (en este aspecto el mérito se lo daría a su padre, quien siempre le regalaba libros) y que redactara con tal soltura este diario (así como algunos cuentos que escribió en el período en el que estuvo escondida). Aunque tuvo periodos donde se encontraba deprimida, se sentía sola y frustada de la situación en la que estaba, nunca perdió las esperanzas de que algún día esa pesadilla terminaría, esto lo podemos comprobar en algunas páginas donde ella habla de la fe, de como podemos conectarnos con Dios y reencontrarnos a nosotros mismos a través de la naturaleza, que eso era lo que ella básicamente hacía observando el cielo en una pequeña ventana de La Casa de Atrás para no sentirse tan sola.
Fue emotiva tu historia de como este libro llegó a ti; no importa la ocasión que sea, un libro siempre es un buen detalle para regalar.
Dios mío sii, me hubiera gustado que en algún momento escribiera acerca de su papá a más profundidad. Lo describe de tal manera que hasta yo lo amé. No he leído más de sus obras, pero sin dudas lo haré.
