I strongly agree with this version of the future for libraries, @greengalletti. It's a kinda worrisome that it won't be a reality in many countries (especially the poorest ones) for a long time.

It is the eternal problem of popular libraries. When I was a young man I was very involved with them in the board of directors and always at the end of the year we had to ask the publishers to send us books as gifts (the surplus that they did not sell) because the budget was not enough.

That is one of the things that can be overcome with virtualization. As long as it is implemented correctly.
