RE: A Check List When Shopping for Real Estate

in Finance and Economy13 days ago

I just bought a home near Nashville TN. I did none of this. It was the right size and in great condition, in a lovely neighborhood, about 2000 feet from the Cumberland River so the air was intoxicating (I did check if it was in a flood zone), ten minutes from one of my daughters, with a greenhouse and raised beds, 1950's simple home, and I loved it on first sight. Best of all, it was the right price, so that I could pay cash. I was the first person to see it, and I made an offer before I left that first time I saw it. They got another offer the very next day, but mine had already been accepted. Hopefully, it all works out for me. If not, I'll sell it!

I'm sure glad you are so happy with your home.

It sounds like heaven. You need to send us pictures! Nothing will go wrong--I'm certain :)

Things can still go wrong here, but we'll just deal with them when they happen. Funny, a couple of months after we moved my husband had a serious problem with his leg. If we had missed that window of opportunity, we might never have moved. You can't plan everything, can you?

I'm not quite as certain as you seem to be! But it's not my only home, so if it doesn't work, I have options.

I'm glad you got all moved in before your ordeal. Is his leg all better?

Is his leg all better?

We just got back from a short walk. It's a couple of operations and procedures later, but we manage to get around. Very fortunate.🌈

I hope it has a couple of guest rooms:) Robbie keeps talking about visiting.

Oh my I would LOVE that! Nashville is great; I go there to eat, the restaurants are fabulous. Music in the small venues is excellent too. Now that you've survived being on US soil, perhaps you will brave doing it again. I have two bedrooms, but there's also a den and an office that could be used as guest rooms.

We'll definitely have to organise a get together. It was so much fun last time.
We've applied for residency in Paraguay so we'll be over and back a few times in the next 12 months.

Wow! Berwick just said that Paraguay would be one of his top picks to live if he hadn't gotten so settled in Mexico!

Really? Great! I just sent off all the documents today. The next step, once the papers have been filed by the lawyer, is we spend 2 weeks in Paraguay.

That will not suck. You're thinking of relocating your whole shebang?
