A former pastor was convicted of raping his adopted teenage daugther, beginning when she was just 14 years old. David Lynn Richards Jr. was found guilty by the jury on nine felony counts, including rape, incest and sexual battery by an authority figure. He was given only 12 years of prison time despite the prosecutor recommending a sentence of 72 years. The Judge attributed this light sentence to Richards’s religious leadership and the outpouring of support from his congregation. The pastor maintains his innocence despite DNA evidence to the contrary.

Isn't that bullshit! Forgive my foul language but things like this tends to get on my nerves. He s been molesting her since she was fourteen and they gave him such light sentence?
A non-religious person would have gotten more than triple the sentence.. Now tell me, is that fair??
I guess this is one of those cases where we can legitimately ask, what side is god on?
The pastor can safely say that god is with him, since he got it off the hook. The support of the congregation is typical of these cases. It resembles the support ditators get from their oppressed masses.
That kind of judge should also be prosecuted. There should also be a separation between church and the judicial system.

A priest should get a more severe sentence for a crime like that given he is supposed to behave better than us sinners. If the judge finds him guilty then make him pay for the breach of trust.
This is totally wrong! Pastor or not,he's a rapist and should get the deserved jail term.
