Plant Power (Vegan)
Timphan is a delicious typical Acehnese food

Hello friends, everyone, hive and food lovers

Traditional snacks are indeed very interesting and healthy for us to enjoy in the era of the onslaught of junk food. This traditional snack is a typical food from my region, namely timphan. This legendary cake comes from the special region of Aceh. This cake is usually often found at formal events such as parties, recitations. and other events, and every Eid this cake is always the main menu among other cakes.

I'm showing it again on this occasion. I want to share and tell you a little about the uniqueness of my local snacks, timphan is very famous in various circles and this snack is often used as a souvenir by some tourists.

Indeed, the very interesting thing about this timphan cake is that it is a soft cake with various kinds of fillings inside and wrapped in banana leaves. From its appearance alone, this is very traditional, there are many types of timphan itself, but here I made cassava timphan stuffed with coconut seeds.

Ingredients for making cassava timphan:

IMG_20231102_234151.jpgIMG_20231102_230243.jpg

500 grams of cassava
1 sachet of instant coconut milk
7 tbsp granulated sugar
300 grams of grated coconut
3 pandan leaves
1 tsp salt
banana leaf

How to make coconut unti:

(1) The first step is that I make coconut seeds first, first I prepare grated coconut then I add 1 teaspoon of salt and 7 tablespoons of granulated sugar then I stir until the coconut releases a little water.

(2) and then I made the caramel using granulated sugar. If you want to use brown sugar too, add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar to a cooking pan over medium heat, don't stir it so that the caramel comes out.
