Fruits and vegetables are essential components of a healthy diet. It must be included in our day-to-day meals to keep our bodies healthy, strong, and in good condition. Once sickness strikes, all of our little savings will lose because going to the doctor is very expensive. So, let us be mindful of the food we eat. We should consume less unhealthy food and eat more healthy foods. So, go for VEGAN.

Hello, dear Hivers, and especially to all the witty and generous people in this community. How are you today? I hope that you are in good health and safe all the time. It's my first time posting in this community, but I am one of the avid viewers here since I love cooking and preparing vegetable dishes for my family. Aside from that, I wanted to learn more about vegetable recipes. So, being a member of this community is a great opportunity.

Today's blog is my entry to the weekly vegan challenge # 7 "Your Veggie Shopping". This challenge is very inspiring, and as a fruit lover, you will be motivated. Thank you, @sirenahippe, for initiating this wonderful and meaningful topic. It was also a coincidence since we went shopping with my daughter. For every shopping we had, we always included fruits in our list. We had our shopping in Bogo City on that day, our neighboring town, where we could shop for most of our needs, especially the vegetables and fruits we wanted.

There were a lot of fruits sold by fruit vendors. There were apples, melons, lemons, oranges, and bananas. Of all the fruits sold, I chose Banana since, in almost every meal we had, this fruit was present. So even though the price is high since we celebrated our new year last week, I bought 2 kilos of bananas for 90.00 pesos per kilo. The total cost of the banana I bought was 180.00 pesos.

Banana is one of the best fruits usually consumed by Filipino People and even in some countries. It is usually elongated and curved. Having a banana in every meal is good for one's body since this fruit is rich in potassium and carbohydrates. You can serve it in every mail as a dessert or snack. There are also a lot of recipes where banana is the main ingredient. Some recipes were banana cake, Banana Toron, Banana Cue, Banana Fritters, and many more. Aside from that, we can cook or prepare overripe bananas into Banana Jam to prevent wasting them during its seasons.

I bought a lot of bananas because I wanted to make Banana Jam for spreading bread. My kids love to eat bread, provided it has a sweet spread. With this, I realized that why not make my own jam for spread? Without hesitation, I cooked Jam using the Banana I bought. So today, I will share with you my recipe for Banana Jam. I hope you will do this and prepare your own too.

Jam is one of my favorite spreads for bread. Instead of buying Jam in the supermarket. I will encourage you to prepare it with your own for safety or when there are fruits in season. This is one way of preserving our fruits in order to avoid waste and for future consumption. This recipe is also applicable to mango, pineapple, and other fruits that can be made into Jam.

That's all for this blog. Thank you for reading. God bless!

Hi @dehai, welcome to the Plant Power Vegan community. Your great post really surprised me, I thought the way you wrote it and the delicious recipe you shared with us were great.

What you say is true: We must prevent diseases, the deterioration of our bodies, through a healthy diet. As Hippocrates said: "May your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food", and nothing better than eating vegan, eating compassionately to be healthy.

Regarding your purchase, the banana is one of the most important fruits also in Venezuela. There are areas of my country where a meal without a banana is not considered a complete meal.

I really liked this banana jam recipe, I think that when my plants bear fruit again, I will dare to prepare it, it is really good.

Thank you very much for your participation in the contest, it is the first entry to this vegan challenge. Greetings!

Thank you @sirenahippie.Its a great honor for me that you like my post and my recipe. I am just writing about what my heart felt because cooking is my passion. And the vegan recipe is my favorite since childhood. Thank you ! Thank you for your words of inspiration. It truly inspires and motivates me to continue learning in writing even if I'm not a good writer since I am not a writer by profession. God bless and Mabuhay!

Wonderful purchases to enjoy at your leisure. I find it very interesting how to preserve bananas as they decompose very quickly. Thanks for sharing this technique. Beautiful and blessed day to you.
