Making eggplant round burgers from my own garden for the first time

in Plant Power (Vegan)2 years ago

Having your own garden is very exciting. There are many things that you can see when you first wake up in the morning to see all my plants growing healthy, lush and fruitful, it is something that is very proud of me and my husband, who have never farmed before. It's like there is a new passion in our lives when we look at the mini garden. And right now we are harvesting our eggplants, one eggplant can weigh 250 grams or more. We harvest only the eggplants, there are several large eggplants and my neighbors have also divided them all so that they also feel my joy even though it's just eggplants.

Because we harvested more than one eggplant, I took the initiative to process this eggplant into a snack for myself and because of its round shape I thought of one thing, namely a burger, maybe it would look delicious and it turned out that the goddess Fortuna was with me when I saw it was still there is stock of tempeh, tomatoes which I also harvest directly from the garden without pesticides and fresh lettuce leaves. there is still 1 stick left in my fridge. I am very happy about it.

Because my ingredients for making this eggplant burger are already available, I will just execute it right away, but before that I will perfect the ingredients for the burger that I will make.

1. 1 round eggplant
Actually, you don't have to have round eggplants, you can use eggplants in any shape here, but because I only have round eggplants, it turns out that it's more aesthetically pleasing to use round eggplants because burgers are identical to their round shape.

2. Tempeh
I only use 1 piece of tempeh with a slightly large size as a substitute for meat

3. Tomatoes
The tomatoes that I use are cherry tomatoes which are slightly sour and have a sweet taste and have firm and not mushy flesh, so they are perfect for the burger that I will make.

4. Salt
I use this salt as a little sprinkling on the eggplants and tempeh when I fry them later

5. Lettuce
Use lettuce leaves sparingly

6. Chili sauce
I use this chili sauce for the spicy flavor of my eggplant burger, if you want to make it yourself that's even better, but it definitely takes a lot more time and is a lot more troublesome, of course

How to make :

1. Clean the round eggplant first, then cut it into two parts, then fry it with a little oil and sprinkle a little salt on the eggplant. It would be better to use olive oil, however I don't have that right now

2. Cut the tempeh into a size that fits the eggplant, then fry it over medium heat, once it is browned, the tempeh can be removed

3. After the tempeh and eggplant are finished frying, I just have to put together the eggplant burgers with the first layer, of course, eggplant, then the second, I put the lettuce leaves which I have washed with clean drinking water, of course, after the next layer, there are tempeh, tomatoes and of course sauce chili, finished, then cover again with eggplant.

It's very easy to make and it's not complicated. I eat this snack alone while enjoying the view of my lemon tree behind the house. Good luck, greetings from us, Tomi and Maya, from the city of Binjai, Indonesia.

It is a real blessing to have a garden and harvest the vegetables. We have here eggplants of a darker colour, and I usually prepare them fried. It looks delicious and interesting in the way you prepared it :)

That looks delicious! I believe Tempeh is the best Indonesian food!

A different and very healthy option to eat hamburgers. What a privilege to have them in the garden and eat them whenever you want, I have to buy them. Cheers.

Looks so spiced up friend. This is really healthy and nutritious. Your garden reminds me of how my mom goes to bring vegetables right just at the corner of her house. I wish to have one. Happy New week ❤. Thanks for sharing this unique beauty.
