Mouthwatering ceylon olive Pickles / It reminds me of my childhood

Ceylon olive Pickles 😯 ?????

M mmmmmm yummy . Your mouth is watering even when you see this pickle, isn't it guys?

Everyone likes to eat pickles regardless of age. So today I brought this recipe to all of us..Actually, I have a lot of childhood memories with these pickles. This is one of my favorite pickles. I got these trees from my neighbor's house.. Because this type of trees grows a little big, it can damage houses. So that uncle in that neighboring house, cut the branches of this tree and gave us some of it too.

These can be eaten as a fruit when they are ripe.. You can also make juice from ripe ceylon olives and drink it.. but raw ceylon olives is used for this pickle.

Among the fruits, this ceylon olive can be introduced as one of the most beneficial fruits. Although it is small in size ,but its nutritional quality is very high.
We call these as Veralu in Sinhala language. There are plenty of these here. Especially in the villages, almost every house has them.. and you can buy them from the market during the growing season.. these are not very expensive.

This is how to make delicious ceylon olive pickles ( veralu achcharu)

  • Ceylon olives 500g
  • Chili powder 2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Sugar 01 tbsp
  • Salt powder ( to taste )

  • 1 step

First wash the ceylon olives well.

  • 2 step

Put the clay pot . And add water for boil.
It is good if you use a clay pot to boil the ceylon olives . It can get a different taste.

  • 3 step

Boil for about 15 minutes in low flame.after you can see that looks like this.

  • 4 step

Strain the water from the boiled ceylon olives . We need that strained water to make the chili paste .. so don't waste that water.

  • 5 step

Now put 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of pepper powder, and salt powder in the clay pot used for boiled the ceylon olives .

Now ,add about 7 to 8 drops of water to it and mix well.

  • 6 step

Now add 1 tablespoon of sugar and again add a few drops of water to the paste and mix well.

  • 7 step

oky. now add that boild ceylon olives to the pot .. and mix well with that paste.

Again keep the ceylon olive mixture in low flame for about 4 minutes. By doing , the mixture is absorbed well into the ceylon olive .

Now its ready to eat ..

Hmmm.. while making these pickles, I remembered my school days.I remember the past when I ate ceylon olive pickles in the school canteen together with my friends😐. It was very beautiful at that time.. You also have many beautiful memories about your school days.

So if you have found this type of fruit, try this recipe. You will like it very much.
This kind of delicious pickles are perfect for a happy gathering with family members. Also, it is very suitable to take when going on a trip.So let's meet again with a different recipe.
