Vegan lovers are happy to share with you again, this time with an easy-to-make homemade vegan recipe that will become one of your go-to recipes at home. This recipe was inspired by a food blogger I saw on social media. She turned my favorite snack into something very easy to make.

Fried Misoa Nuggets

Fried misoa nuggets are a processed vegan snack. The original recipe is actually non-vegan, containing meat or eggs. But this time, we're going to change things up and make them into practical and easy-to-prepare vegan misoa nuggets.

As we know, misoa is actually a type of noodle that is very similar to vermicelli or rice noodles. However, misoa has a softer and chewier texture than other types of noodles, making it perfect for frying.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

100 grams of misoa
1 carrot
2 stalks of celery
2 tablespoons of wheat flour
Flour as needed
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of mushroom broth

Spice paste

3 cloves of garlic
2 candlenuts
10 cayenne peppers

Cooking Procedure

Grate the carrots and chop the celery, then prepare all the other ingredients.

Grind all the spices; I grind them manually using a mortar and pestle. If you prefer, you can also blend them with a little water.

Then sauté the ground spices with 1 tablespoon of cooking oil until fragrant.

Add the grated carrots, then add the celery leaves, and finally add the misoa.

If you want it to be denser, add a solution of wheat flour and water to taste, stir and cook until the misoa is cooked.Once cooked, the misoa will start to harden. Shape it in a container and store it in the refrigerator for a while.

After storing for about 2 hours, the misoa will become firm. Cut into small pieces according to your preference.

Then dip into a mixture of wheat flour and water, then dip into fanir flour.

Then fry until golden brown. You can also store it as a frozen food in your refrigerator.

The result exceeded my expectations. It was exactly like what I usually enjoy at the cafe I used to visit. The misoa was just right. It's funny that I used to think misoa was made from Indomie, but it turns out that misoa is actually a type of noodle. I'm sure this one tastes better. The combination of noodles and seasoning is just right, and the addition of fanir makes it even more crispy and delicious.

I think this is a fried snack that would also be delicious served as a side dish with rice. Yeah, in Indonesia, rice is the staple food, so I think misoa will become a frozen food option at home. When I need a quick, ready-to-eat meal in the morning, this will be a very practical solution.
