This morning I woke up early, rushed to the kitchen while the weather was still dim outside. The plan is that I will do activities at my place of work, so I have to prepare breakfast early in the kitchen. So that later at lunch I can immediately enjoy a delicious lunch without having to go to the kitchen again. The plan is that I will cook fresh and healthy food today. So, I will process kluwih fruit (Artocarpus camansi) or in Aceh known as kulu fruit. This fruit is similar to jackfruit, but this fruit is small and very delicious cooked when young like this. I got this fruit from my neighbor, yesterday he told me about this fruit and I also really wanted to cook a simple recipe for kluwih fruit like my mother's recipe at home!

Boh Kulu Asam Keueung Starfruit

This recipe is a recipe from my mother, simple ingredients combined with starfruit, make this vegetable very delicious as a spicy sour soup like this. I always miss this simple dish at home, but the kluwih fruit which is very rare to find makes it difficult for me to make it.

So, this recipe itself is made from kluwih fruit with spices that are simply crushed with a pestle. Then boil it like making a typical soup. However, the natural savoriness of this fruit is enough to make it tempting. Moreover, the orange leaves make it even more fragrant with a distinctive aroma.

Here I will show you a simple recipe using kluwih fruit as ingredients!

Materials Used

  • 1 kluwih fruit
  • 3 starfruit
  • 5 cayenne peppers
  • 3 pieces of sunti acid
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Cooking Procedure

Step 1

Peel the skin of the kluwih fruit, now at this stage you have to be careful using gloves so as not to dirty your hands with the sap of this fruit.

Step 8

Now in a pan, add 2 liters of clean water then boil. Add the ground spices to the boiled water and then add chopped lime leaves. For the lime leaves, I just tore them as desired so they were smaller.

Asam keueung kulu fruit or kluwih is ready to eat and serve for lunch at home with warm white rice. It tastes very fresh and will definitely make you like it. Fresh savory with a soft texture is quite tempting. One thing that I really like about the taste of kluwih fruit is that the natural sweetness of this fruit is enough to create natural freshness. So it's very healthy in my opinion, plus the sauce without oil without artificial sweeteners makes today's lunch even more special.

So, as I said above, this is my mother's recipe, she always prepares kluwih into this dish at home. So this recipe is not foreign at all. Oh, friends, you need to know that I get quite a lot of kluwih for about 2 bowls of soup and can be enjoyed by both of us.
