Masala Crunchy Homemade Corn Recipe 🌽🍲

Greetings my dear hivers and friends of #plantpowervegan. Wishing you all a very relaxing weekend alongside your family and loved ones 🥰.

Bringing new meals and recipes to our table as lunch 🥙, dinner 🥘 or side meals can be so exciting because we love to always find new things which will help us add new time table to the kitchen roaster. It can also help us rotate our meals giving enough room of repetition.

And today friends I made a special spicy Masala corn recipe which I first saw watching a YouTube. So I prepared this recipe in my own version which I bring to share and teach you because I see this recipe as one you will love to try, especially as a lunch or side dish.

This recipe is simple, straightforward and does not need to much of ingredients to be prepared with. Here I show you the ingredients I used and steps to making the recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

5 large young corn kernels
1 small cloves of onions
3 red hot chili 🌶
Thumb size of a ginger
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of curry powder
1/2 teaspoon of thyme
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

STEPS FOR PREPARATION:

Step 1.

To prepare this recipe, I will first cut the corn kernels into two equal parts.

Next is to wash the corn and set it on the cooker, to start boiling , adding some salt to it 🧂 for tastes . I will leave the corn 🌽 to cook for at least 40 - 50 minutes to tender properly.

Step 3.

I will clean, wash and slice the onions, chili and the ginger to keep ready.

Step; 4.

Once the corn cooks, I will drain them in a basket and leave them to cool down a bit before I proceed to slice cut off the corns from the kernel cobs. Gradually I will slice cut all the corns.

Step 5.

Here we have the corn all slice cut off from the corn kernels and ready. Also the spice all ready.

Step 6.

Next to fry the onions , ginger and pepper slightly, I will add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, allow to heat up and add them. Stir - fry them for seconds before adding the corns to it.

I will stir the corn into the fried spice, add a bit of water and allow to cook to absorb the spice more. And while cooking I will add all other spices. The turmeric, black pepper, the curry and the thyme stirring evenly to incorporate ingredients.

Once it cooks and tenders more with the spices evenly distributed and drying, I put it down and serve hot.

This is a recipe you can try at home especially now that we can still get good fresh corn 🌽. It tasted so spicy and delicious as a side dish to brown beans, but you can make your choice of it as s side dish or just pure lunch 🥙.
