Making Fried Food: Simple Cabbage Fritters without Wheat Flour

Hello HIVe friends, still on the theme for the afternoon breaking fast menu today. and today I will make fried foods which are my and my wife's favorite food, but I realize that this food is also unhealthy if eaten every day so it would be better to limit consumption to only once a week or if necessary once a month because no matter what, healthy is much more expensive. And today's menu is I will make Cabbage Fritters. Fritters themselves are a type of fried food made from various vegetables coated in flour with some basic spices in it, each recipe has a different way. And for my recipe I will explain below

The ingredients I use for my Bakwan recipe are:

1. 250 grams of oatmeal

2. 100 grams of rice flour

3. ½ tablespoon of salt
4. ½ teaspoon of pepper (you can use black pepper or white pepper)

5. 2 stalks of celery and 1 stalk of bell pepper

6. 3-4 cloves of shallots
7. 2 cloves of garlic and one chili

8. 1 stick of carrot
9. 300 grams of cabbage.

Now let's see the process of making it.

1. The first step I did was mix the oatmeal into the rice flour.

2. After that I thinly sliced the celery leaves and the pre leaves that I had previously washed, my friends, and after I thinly sliced them, I mixed them into the flour in the container

3. The next step I separated the cabbage leaves, then I removed the bones and washed them thoroughly, then I thinly sliced them lengthwise and put them into the dough.

4. After the cabbage, I grated the carrots that I had also cleaned. Actually, cutting them thinly lengthwise is also possible, but I'm a little lazy so I prefer to grate them roughly to speed up the process

5. After all the vegetables were finished, I processed them next by smoothing the shallots, garlic, salt and pepper powder and don't forget to add 250 ML of water. and I blended them until smooth.

6. After finishing blending, I put them into all the ingredients that had been put into one container earlier. I can't correct the taste because I'm fasting. But for the size of ½ tablespoon of pressed salt, I'm sure it won't taste salty, unless the salt measurement is a full 1 tablespoon.

7. After that, stir until all the ingredients are evenly mixed and what I want is a thick dough like the one in the photo with more vegetable composition than flour.

8. After everything is done, I heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and I fry the dough with a measurement of 1 small vegetable spoon that I have as shown in the picture.

9. After it turns brown, remove and drain

10. Bakwan with my own recipe has been finished. Let's try it together.

In this recipe, the reason why I use oatmeal flour is so that the dough is more fragrant and gluten-free, then I mix in rice flour so that it cooks faster and is crispy but the inside is still soft and tender. I got this flour combination from my wife and I like it. You can try it yourself at home and for the type of vegetables you can use other vegetables that you usually use. And because all the steps have been shared with you, I will take my leave first. Greetings from Tomi Diwirja, Indonesia

Usually this snack uses a mixture of wheat flour. Because I have a history of diabetes, so I replaced it with oatmeal. Thank you @theresa16
