- The world is filled with consumers and the thing we consume the most of is social media content.
- I guess this is why everyone dreams of being a well paid content creator and living the easy life.
- Am I right?
- But the problem is being a good content creator is not easy; it takes talent, hardwork, consistency and ignoring or sometimes neglecting other things in your life.
- The other problem is that honestly there are not that many talented and entertaining content creators.
- While most people think their content is good, some even think their content is great. I think the truth be told most of it is average and some below average.
- Sorry, that sounds harsh, but sometimes the truth is a bitter pill.
- The truth is many people who join platforms hoping to become well paid content creators quit within a few months of joining a platform like Hive or Inleo.
Why?
- They may be disappointed at the amount they earn.
- They maybe disappointed at how many people upvote their posts.
- They maybe disappointed at how many people read their content.
- They may be disappointed by how many comments they receive.
- Basically it's hard to build a good following on Hive when your new and many people find this out and leave.
Being a content creator isn't that easy, but there is an alternative
- Think about how many people can write well written, researched and thoughtful long form content? Not many.
- And how many can write fun engaging short form content? Perhaps more, but still not a lot.

- So what if instead of recruiting people to be content creators, we recruited them to be content consumers?

- I think authors love feedback, when it is polite and especially when it is positive.
- And this is a place for the exchange of ideas. So we should engage politely and respectfully with people even when we don't agree with them. Who knows, we might learn something.

That was a good read and lots of sense being dispensed if those newbies who read it pay heed to it. You are right about the assertion that there is loads of terrible content out there, no doubt about that. Even some of the very profitable stuff I see my sons watching on Youtube is tripe, but what do I know, some have millions to tens of millions of views!
