Opening Memories.

Hi, collectors. Glad to be writing on this month's theme.

Honestly, I didn't know that bottle openers were a thing. Like something one could actually collect. Lol. I guess anything and everything could actually be collected. No stuff is less important, you know. Hehehe.

I actually have a few collection of bottle openers, all of which I got as gifts. And I've had them for years now, as you can see from how they look. And of course, they all have a name. Lol.

Guinness Opener.

This opener is actually the oldest in my collection. I've had it for about eleven years now. I've always kept it in a particular travelling bag, just brought it out to snap and it's back there again.

Seeing it now has opened up some good memories of my stay at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. I was hanging out with some friends at one cosy spot in Uyo. The company, Guinness Plc was running a raffle for their Malta Guinness drink - buy a drink, check under the crown cork, see what you win. We ordered drinks, flipped the crown and boom, mine said "bottle opener." Some friends got “try again, "a free drink", and the rest.

2-in-1 opener.

This opener came as a souvenir from one of my clients, a university I handle ads for at my station. You can see the name - TopFaith University, Mkpatak, located at Akwa Ibom State. It came in a bag with the school's journal, a table calendar and a jotter. I shared about the jotter in the journals theme.

It's portable and has been with me every day for three years now, serving as my key holder. Sometimes, it does its job as a bottle opener, especially on emergencies at events.

Star (Shine Shine Bobo) Opener.

I nicknamed this Star opener "Shine Shine Bobo" because that's what Star beer is called in the ads during those days. Don't know about now.

It’s been with me for years, serving as my backup key holder, but if you ask me how or when I got it, I can’t remember. But it's definitely not from another raffle. Hehehe.

3-in-1 opener.

This one did everything - bottle opener, key holder and nail cutter.

Can’t remember how I got it or how long I’ve had it. But what I know is that it served as my key holder before I changed it with the other one I got from the university client.

Haven't used it since then, even as a nail cutter. The spring that held the nail cutter just fell off, and it's no more useful.

All four openers are unique in their own ways. Apart from the one on my keys, the other three are basically monuments now. Occupying space more than opening bottles. Eish!

And that's a wrap: 4 openers, 4 opened memories!
Thank for reading.

Oh, really! I actually didn't check, stumbled on @kpoulout post and thought - that was it. Lol.
But, it's nice to write in the community once again after a while now.

Brings back memories of my drinking beer with my friends without my parents knowing nights. Shhh! Our faces get so red...

And we didn't stop with beer, it's my crazy late teen years. 😲

That's always the case, from one escapade to another. 😂
