Hoy vengo a enseñarte otra de mis tantas colecciones y que, me atrevo a decir, puede llegar a parecerte una colección un tanto extraña si nunca en tu vida has escuchado o leído algo relacionado al mundo del K-Pop.

Antes de hablar acerca de la colección del día de hoy, debo ponerte un poco en contexto. Por lo general, estamos muy acostumbrados que al adquirir un álbum musical de nuestro cantante favorito sólo estamos obtenido el CD con una carátula estética y, a lo mucho, un cancionero. Pues bien, resulta que en el mundo del K-Pop la cuestión se pone interesante y va mucho más allá pues los álbumes musicales poseen diversas inclusiones que acompañan al CD como por ejemplo photobooks, pósters e incluso regalos especiales referentes al disco como calendarios, mensajes, llaveros. Sin embargo, a mi parecer una de las inclusiones que más valor le da, hoy en día, al álbum musical de cualquier artista de K-Pop son las famosas photocards.

Seguro ya te estarás preguntando, ¿qué rayos es una photocard?
Pues bien, una photocard no es más que una tarjeta pequeña con la foto o ilustración de los cantantes o idols de K-Pop...y sí, ¡son coleccionables! Dado que son artículos de colección, algunas photocard suelen tener un valor más elevado que otras, dependiendo de la demanda que tengan, de qué tan "exclusiva" sea, del idol que aparece en ella o si es edición limitada. Pero ok, ahora sí, vayamos al grano: ¿cómo fue que comencé a coleccionar photocards?

Usually, we are very used to the fact that when we buy a musical album of our favorite singer we are only getting the CD with an aesthetic cover and, at most, a songbook. Well, it turns out that in the world of K-Pop the question gets interesting and goes much further because the music albums have various inclusions that accompany the CD such as photobooks, posters and even special gifts related to the album such as calendars, messages, key chains. However, in my opinion, one of the inclusions that gives more value, nowadays, to the music album of any K-Pop artist are the famous photocards.
I'm sure you're wondering, what the heck is a photocard?
Well, a photocard is nothing more than a small card with a photo or illustration of the K-Pop singers or idols...and yes, they are collectible! Since they are collector's items, some photocards tend to have a higher value than others, depending on the demand they have, how “exclusive” they are, the idol that appears on them or if they are limited edition. But ok, let's get to the point: _How did I start collecting photocards?

En principio, esto no era algo que estaba en mis planes, pero todo fue gracias a mis amigas. Gracias a las photocards fanmade fue que inició mi colección. Mi grupo de amigas comenzó a hacer sus propias photocards y para mi cumpleaños me regalaron un gran lote. Sin mencionar que en las proyecciones de conciertos en el cine a los que he asistido también he recibido regalos hechos por las mismas fanáticas, como stickers, fotografías y photocards. Fue así como poco a poco mi colección de photocards no originales fue creciendo.
La locura por la colección de photocards comenzó a desatarse un poco cuando decidí que podía comenzar a coleccionar uno que otro álbum de BTS, pero aquí ya la situación se ponía más seria, porque con los álbumes musicales comenzarían a llegar a mis manos las photocards originales. Hasta el momento sólo tengo en mis manos nueve photocards originales. Cinco de ellas venían incluídas en el álbum en solitario de V (uno de los miembros de BTS) y que cabe destacar fueron las primeras originales que adquirí. Luego, gracias al álbum Lover Yourself: Her de BTS obtuve una de mis favoritas: el sonriente J-Hope teñido de pelirrojo. A veces esto es una moneda al aire, porque no sabes exactamente cuál photocard vendrá incluída en el álbum musical que acabas de adquirir, así que es algo realmente emocionante descubrirlo. Las otras dos photocards originales son de J-Hope y RM (líder de BTS), y las terminé adquiriendo en un Festival Cultural Asiático que realizaron hace un mes en mi ciudad.
Al ser estas photocards originales las cuido al máximo, así que las mantengo resguardadas en este mini álbum...sí, lo sé, es adorable.

You see, you don't necessarily collect photocards that are original, there is also the possibility of making your own photocards with your favorite pictures of the singers and looking, of course, for a good material for printing. It was thanks to the fanmade photocards that I started my collection. My group of friends started making their own photocards and for my birthday they gave me a big batch. Not to mention that at concert screenings at the cinema that I have attended I have also received gifts made by the same fans, such as stickers, photographs and photocards. That's how little by little my collection of non-original photocards grew.
The craze for collecting photocards started to unleash a little when I decided that I could start collecting one or another BTS album, but here the situation was getting more serious, because with the music albums I would start getting my hands on the original photocards. So far I only have nine original photocards in my hands. Five of them were included in the solo album of V (one of the members of BTS) and were the first originals I acquired. Then, thanks to BTS's Lover Yourself: Her album I got one of my favorites: the smiling J-Hope dyed red hair. Sometimes this is a coin flip, because you don't know exactly which photocard will come included in the music album you just purchased, so it's a really exciting thing to find out. The other two original photocards are of J-Hope and RM (leader of BTS), and I ended up acquiring them at an Asian Cultural Festival they held a month ago in my city.
Since these are original photocards, I take the utmost care of them, so I keep them in this mini album...yes, I know, it's adorable.

Lo divertido de todo esto de las photocards es que puedes intercambiarlas e incluso también sirven como elemento decorativo por lo que es muy común que las fanáticas de los grupos de K-Pop las usemos como colgantes en nuestras mochilas o carteras. Es bastante divertido ir caminando tranquilamente por la calle y, de repente, toparte con una chica que tenga una photocard como colgante en su cartera.
