RE: Culture Trip : The Longest Holiday

It's beautiful to actually hear you talk about the EID celebration in Indonesia. One thing I've come to learn about holidays, it's not always about the type of holiday, it's the people you spend it with that makes it special.

I'm glad you decided to join on the celebration this time. I'm not a Muslim but I have a lot of muslim friends and I respect this celebration a lot. For most parts in my country it gets really loud, people throw parties and offer food to a lot of people, especially the ram, it makes a lot of people look forward to it.

I admire the way it is celebrated in your vicinity. The 'angpao' is something I think everyone should adopt irrespective of the religion. As long as it is given from the deepest part of the heart. The holidays and the raise in salary are quite reasonable. Getting new clothes for the celebration isn't a bad thing but then it's not a do it die affair, if one does not have the money for new clothes it's better to where what you have and happily join in on the celebration.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, me especially. I enjoyed reading every bit of it ❤️❤️

I agree with you! it's not the type of holiday rather who we get to spend time with. I honestly don't like it but sometimes it can be fun. I think what you describe of their celebration is pretty much anywhere, the tradition is also similar just the naming and how they do it is slightly different. I honestly came into a conclusion that at surface level and general, many culture shares similarities but when we look into it, obviously there are small differences here and there.

I am always happy to read a long thoughtful comment! have a great day!
