This Gen-Z Yoruba Boy Discovers His Culture Through Food πŸ˜‹

Watch me wander, looking for the best materials for my meal:

This is a movie-like vlog of me and I hope you enjoy watching 😊

Life is a Movie

Check it out on 3speak πŸŽ₯ :

I am a proud Yoruba boy from Ekiti State in Nigeria. As much as I love being a Gen-Z, Culture is the way of life of people and as I get older, the more I fall in love with every part of mine: The music, language and especially the food πŸ˜‹.

As a Yoruba boy, I love Efo-Riro. Any Yoruba guy that doesn't share the love for this food should be sent to another tribe, (LOL just kidding.)

All About this Enjoyable Meal

From the video, you would notice it was my mum that taught me how to prepare this.

The star ingredient that makes up this enjoyable meal is the vegetable leaves. You can grow them in your compound. It is identified by the purple flower that grows with it.

It is packed with nutrients from its leafy greens, offering Vitamins A, C, K, folate, iron, fiber, and minerals, supporting immunity, bone health, digestion, and vision.

Pepper is another ingredient you put in the mixture to get that rich, sweet and bold taste.

Variations You Could Enjoy this Soup With

Fufu and Efo-Riro

I prefer pounded yam with Efo-Riro, it has a very filling taste. I don't have a picture of Pounded yam with Efo-Riro but here is one of Pounded yam with Ewedu Soup.

Let us know in the comments,

How do you love to eat your Efo-Riro?

Maybe I could learn a thing or two from your combo πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š
