I don't disagree there, a lot of content keeps getting rewarded even though it clearly isn't being consumed, but it's not much different from this. While these posts do take longer to be created they aren't hive-only, it's just a crosspost from the other websites he does tweet about and market. If they don't see the value of immutability and the way stake distribution here works to attempt to aid it into growing and keeping those upvotes from coming and people not having a reason to downvote the posts after many years then I don't really see the point of them or why you value them that much when you can just visit his website to view the content for free.
Not to mention how many of the authors these upvoters support aren't ever even active in any other way than crossposting their content and yelling out censorship when certain accounts feel its being overdone due to the fact that they don't get consumed enough on hive or bring anything to the table other than the crossposts. We're not like other websites where we just give them a percentage of adrevenue we get from advertisers, we literally invest stake in the ecosystem in them in hopes they'll return that value over time. I don't see youtube giving people google shares depending on the amount of likes a youtube video receives.
Not to mention if you don't have any stake left after all these years and upvotes I kind of understand why they wouldn't bother attempting to grow this place and invite their following over.
I spend my days logged into hive. I come here often to experience a few different things. I can peruse their material on their website, or on blurt if you prefer but first I would have to try to lure them away. I'd rather support them right here. By telling me to go to their websites, you are redirecting me off Hive. How is this different from dbroze's posting a link for me to easily follow right here?
Surely my reading and supporting dbroze here instead of on his website has some kind of value to hive, whether his content is crossposted or not. Being able to do so has a great deal of value TO ME.
We might never see eye to eye on this, because we have two very different visions of what Hive even is.
