Welcome Back to CBRS Podcast Episode 48 ❤️
Hey everyone, we're back with another episode of the CBRS #Podcast, and this time it's number 48. Things have been wild lately, like "living in a banana republic with crazy events everywhere". But we kept this one short because we're on a tight schedule, @minigunner had to pick up his son @Dovycola from school. We jumped right in without getting too deep into the madness. There was even a funny moment with a door slamming shut from the wind, reminding us of that old song about earth, wind, and fire. You know, September vibes. We chatted about how entertainment comes in good and bad forms these days, with so much happening around the world. But let's get to the fun stuff.
Spinning the Wheel for Hive-Echo Winners
As always, we started with @Hive-Echo, our favorite segment where we spin the wheel of names to give away rewards. We had 50 HIVE ready, and we spun five times to pick the winners, each getting 10 HIVE, supported by @threespeak. Buzzing News from the Hive World
We dove into some exciting updates. First, the @zypto app is a game-changer. You can put your crypto like HIVE, HBD, or Bitcoin into it and use it like a Visa card anywhere, not just where they accept crypto. It's synced with your Hive account, so changes show up right away. But here's a big warning: they ask for your master key, which you should never share of your main account. Create a new account just for Zypto, add funds as needed, and keep your main one safe.
We tried getting a virtual card, but you have to buy some crypto first, unlike other platforms where it's instant. We couldn't buy HIVE or HBD due to a glitch, and we tagged @zypto on X about it but no reply yet.
Last week, we had an awesome chat with the @skatehive team. Those guys are incredible, building their own world with nonstop coding and ideas. It's like entering a Hive of activity every time we connect. They deserve more attention from Hive, especially since they built everything themselves without help, like sleepless nights and all. We brainstormed cool stuff like skate spots on world maps. Check out the full podcast with them, it's long but worth it.
#CodeHive is open for new submissions until November 20th, so get in there if you have ideas. Prizes were big last time, around 10,000 bucks, but we want more details on tasks and winners.
Shoutout to @themarkymark for his new Hive tool, Hive Analytics. It's perfect for digging into data without needing SQL skills. We loved the rally car detail, like the money zooming off. Support him, he's been killing it for ages.
There's a new app called @snapie on the Apple Store, not Google yet, for easy Hive use. We haven't tried it fully, but if you have a review or video, drop it in the comments and we'll share.
Hive is an official partner at the Ghana Youth Tech Summit, which is huge. We had one before that was packed, and Hive is growing strong in Ghana and Nigeria. Speaking of, the @happycustomer Supermarket is thriving, covering ground with seminars and more. They're paying back loans and changing lives, all thanks to @thedistriator kickstarter. It's inspiring.
Shoutouts and What's Next
Big love to @eddiespino and @sagarkothari88 for their nonstop work. They're putting in free time from morning to night, and even with personal stuff like Sagar's mom in the hospital (she's doing better now), they keep going. @starkerz always raves about them too. These guys deserve more recognition.
We teased some heavier topics, like earthquakes and bombshells not just in the real world but in Hive too. Lots of interesting stuff brewing, but we'll let it sit and maybe dive in next week. We've had intense moments before where we poured our hearts out, even redoing episodes to tone it down. Sometimes things need to be said, but for now, we're watching.

Recently, I was checking for more info about zypto, and the same like you, I didn't like the master password thingy... However, a good workaround is to create a second account, specifically for this purpose, and use it as a prepaid account/card. Didn't try it yet, but will probably... Also, I don't like the $0.30 transaction fee as I'm doing a lot of small payments with my current card... But, again, the workaround could be using Zypto fewer times, but with bigger amounts... :)
I would also like to extend my kudos to two individuals from 3Speak, Sagar and Eddie, as they are doing a great job on their project(s)!
PS. Now I can't wait for the next podcast to try the stirred soup... 😃

The developments on Hive could prove troublesome, so we're hoping the anticipated updates will turn out well and prevent any escalation. We're not ready to discuss it further just yet, as the platform has grown increasingly political— even on matters of free speech—and we're opting to stay neutral and low-key for the time being.
Yeah Zypto is very interesting. We just tried to send HBD from Zypto and it worked perfectly.
The one thing we still could not do is buy HIVE or HBD. You still have to buy a different kind of Crypto and then exchange to HIVE or HBD.
Giving it all for the best Blockchain - Hive. Thanks for the mention and there is a whole lot we are planning to do to keep on promoting Hive and giving new people the opportunity to discover digital freedom
Hi guys. Thanks for tagging us. We very actively monitor mentions on all social media, so it's strange we missed you tagging us about the issue you had.
First of all, we appreciate all feedback and always work to improve our UI/UX based on what our users tell us.
Regarding not being able to order a card without buying some crypto first, this is not exactly what is intended. Bear in mind that first and foremost, Zypto App is a multichain defi wallet. All of the payment services are layered on top of that. In order to prevent card issuing spam (yes it's a thing!), we check that the user has at least enough balance in the app for the initial load of $10.
We'd be very interested to get more information about the glitch when buying Hive. We work with Onramper, an on/off-ramping aggregation service, so availability will vary (a lot) from region to region.
For future reference, while we do monitor for mentions, you can't beat our live support agents on the chat bot either through the Z menu item on the app or on Zypto.com
Once an issue is registered with them, it is recorded and shared with the development team and/or management, depending on the type and severity of the issue.

This most likely means there are no options in your specific region at the moment. You do, however, have the option of buying something else and then swapping it to Hive through the multichain swap. That is available everywhere.

There are, yes, but it depends on the pair. There's a quote provided before accepting. Please let us know how it goes... Hive's all-new on the app as you know, so there could be additional kinks that need to be ironed out.
If you're on Android, you may have an update available, which includes adding Hive accounts using Active Key, btw. It's on staged rollout right now and iOS is on the way.
In order to know if there is an error or simply no options are found for your location, we would need to know what region you're in.
