In this episode of the CBRS Podcast, we kick things off with some chaotic post-birthday vibes. @artakush wooden table got absolutely wrecked from the party (liquids everywhere & white stains), so now it's time for sanding and rewaxing the table. He and his friends had a blast though: 4.5 kilos of shashlik, salads, desserts, plenty of drinks.

Hive-Echo is Important
We then focused on Hive blockchain topics, especially the current state of the community. There's real frustration about lack of unity and support. Many users seem to be there just to take (rewards, value) without giving back through engagement, reposts, or simple votes on important posts. We highlight how one dedicated person @Starkerz pushed a great development update on X, but it barely got traction until we boosted it with @Hive-echo. The call is clear: follow #Hive-Echo, drop one vote or repost per week for good stuff, support creators and projects to lift the whole ecosystem. Bigger accounts especially should step up, because spreading awareness directly helps Hive's visibility.

Challanges at 3Speak
We talk about @threespeak. Starkerz and @theycallmedan have poured tons of personal money and effort in over years, dealing with developer issues, server costs, and declining activity when things weren't smooth. Recently things improved a lot thanks to @meno (a key contributor with smart fixes that unclogged pipelines and sped things up). Uploads now show clear progress, and performance feels much better. We debate a proposed change: posting videos to Hive instantly (so the post exists right away), then letting #encoding happen in the background with a memo/transaction update when ready. Pros: reduces uploader frustration and might keep people posting. Cons: viewers might open a fresh post and see nothing playable yet, hurting retention, watch time, and votes. Overall we lean toward keeping the current flow (wait until fully ready before showing publicly) to protect viewer experience, while praising the recent UX gains.
We brainstorm ideas to grow #3Speak and #Hive adoption: better marketing, widgets for easy Web2 integration (watch/post without a full Hive account), archive tools for quick content saving, potential Twitch/ streaming collabs, donation features, and more. We also touch on community events (maybe a low-key #Hive-meetup in the Netherlands someday, keeping it simple and affordable) and the broader need to focus on real users, creators, and impactful small wins instead of flashy distractions.
We wrap up feeling motivated but honest about the challenges: unity, consistent support, and smart focus are key to turning things around. Thanks for listening, Hive on!
