Change the way you VLOG 🤳📹
It has been far too long since I've uploaded to 3Speak, close to three months now. That changes today!
I recently discovered that my iPhone and many other smartphones are capable of doing something pretty crazy. The technology in our phones allows us to record with the front selfie camera and the higher quality cameras on the back at the same time. Most phones, such as the iPhone, do not let you do this straight out of the box, but there is a way and today I am going to show you how.
You can download FilMiC's application called DoubleTake on Apple's App Store (not available for Android), more info is available by visiting https://www.filmicpro.com/products/doubletake/
You're going to want to make sure your phone is compatible before purchasing the app, which by the way only costs $3.99. iOS 15 users with the following devices are supported: iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, Xs/Xs Max, Xr, SE 2, and iPad Pro 2018 or newer.
FilMiC has a few other useful apps that allow you to shoot photos and videos manually if you are into that. You can find all of their amazing apps by browsing https://www.filmicpro.com/.FilMiC. FilMiC Pro, Remote, and Firstlight are available on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
In this video, I will show you how DoubleTake works and play around with a couple of the different view options. It is pretty crazy to think that this has been possible for quite a while now, I have been envisioning something like this for years. I must give a shout-out to my dude @simpleeme for showing me that his Android could do this with its native camera app. I was super jealous at the time, but now am pleasntly surprised and overall ecstatic to find out that my iPhone is capable of the same thing.
I would love to have some feedback as to whether or not you think you'd enjoy seeing more video content from me like this on 3Speak. I think the whole idea of being able to see me and see what I see at the same time is pretty revolutionary.

Could you still somehow also transcode your videos to 240p or 360p, as I am on a slow line and even on 480p your videos just buffer a lot, so no fluid playback possible over here. Many thanks. By the way my new Xiaomi Android phone has it already build into the camera app and its called Dualvideo, which is very nice !!👍🏻❤️🤪🧐
As of right now, I don't think 3Speak supports one video having multiple options (240p/360p/480p/720p/1080p/1440p/2160p) like YouTube does. The only thing I could do is sacrifice the quality of all of my videos and post them in lower resolution so it doesn't require as much to be able to watch them. This of course would not work for people such as myself who are spoiled with a speedy internet connection and am used to watching everything in 1080p or higher.
I really hope that 3Speak can add this feature in the future that way everyone will have a fair chance to watch my videos, without having to sacrifice quality or all of their monthly internet usage.
Thank you for commenting and I hope you will still stick around and check out my written content which is easier to load. I also have a YouTube channel "Daltono", but it's mostly gaming content. At least there you can reduce the streaming quality to allow the videos to actually load for you.
I was inspired by Android to seek out an iOS app that takes advantage of both front and back cameras. I'm glad it exists. Such a cool feature.
EDIT: I asked in the discord and you can reduce quality to 480p, but no lower.
Thanks Yes, I have seen it, that you can choose 480p but that is still too high and it starts to buffer always.. I hope 3 Speak can add also 360p and 240p or only 240p... that would be just okay for me...
Maybe you can ask their tech support and I will do this too, the more people write to them the better the chance they will implement this.

Well, they didn't mention anything about adding lower resolutions than 480p. That doesn't mean they won't in the future. Their Discord is the best place to get answers. Are you on the 3Speak Discord server?

I still use trippy, so it works with me. I just thought being able to use both cameras was pretty cool. Sure it may not be the best for every situation, but sometimes it will be hugely beneficial to be able to show what I'm seeing while also showing my face.
Thanks, by the way, about the clothing organization. That rack is such a great way to keep all of my wares in order, it is heavy duty and makes me feel like I have my own clothing shop in my apartment.
Very nicely created! ♥️ Obviously it has lots of technical limitations given that it is using both cameras at the same time.
Reducing the videos to 1080p/ 30 fps is the only major drawback. Since 3Speak still only has 1080p as the max resolution, it's not a major deal to me.
