Everyone thinks they know about the Playstation.
The 5th-gen console that sold more units than the N64 & Saturn combined.
The common explanation for PS1's overwhelming success is that it was "simple".
Not only is that factually incorrect, but it misses the importance of what was actually simple.
Historically Atari, Nintendo, and Sega were the gate-keepers of the video-game market.
They had all of the partnerships with the studios that made 3rd party games.
MANY large corporations attempted to break into the market, and failed.
And I was completely aware of my biases.
As a kid I had Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis & Gamegear. I played the SNES.
But video-games were just games to me before Playstation. Playstation cahnged my life.
Playstation made me see them as art, and modern story-telling in a way that was previously not possible.
I learned about all of the other consoles to fully understand what made Playstation different.
I worked on this documentary for over a year. I learned not only about how PS1 worked, but also how N64, Saturn, and Jaguar worked.
I looked at the smaller consoles like the 3DO, CD32, and the games for PC, Atari Computers, and Commodore Amigas.
This video looks at the entire hoistorical context of 5th generation games, and the birth of 3D.
We even look at the Arcade systems, and the personal computer games.
It also focuses on Silicon Graphics Inc and LSI_Logic; the two major companies often left out of the 5th-gen console war history.
I promise you'll learn things you didn't know about this point in the history of video games.
About the hardware of the consoles, the approaches to game desing/3D, changes in the industry, the Japan vs USA differences, and the birth of modern games.
This is the most comprehenesive video about Playstation, and the birth of modern gaming I could make because this is the video I wished I could watch.
I worked hard to say everything I needed to say in 2 hours.
I 100% guarantee you'll learn something.

Nice
It took me literally 6 different tries to upload this video.
The original video's size was 2.7 GB, and the only way i got it to upload was using the 1.3 GB version.
All of those failed attempts didn't even give me a reason. Just never showed up.

I published the video on 3Speak...
Can I ask why you are asking me to do this? What is the basis for it?
Never in the past has anyone asked me to do this.
And while I don't like being asked to do things to verify my identity or ownership of my content:
I did this video years ago, and Hive is featured in the video, and links to THIS channel are in the description. That should prove I am me, right?
I don't really understand why I am suddenly being asked to do this.
If I wanted to steal content I'd certainly pick a different brand that's actually successful lol.
Is it because my Playstation video is old and I uploaded it to 3Speak?
I notice that all of my older videos are deleted from 3Speak, but I don't know why. I don't believe I deleted them, but I also don't know for sure as I stopped uploading there. I originally uploaded everything to Dlive, and I'm thinking maybe that's why they all disappeared?
Hi.
That video mentioning Hive fulfills the request.
Regarding old video not being available. Maybe they were unloaded to Steemit years ago.
I love the opening soundtrack. It's so epic.
