RE: Please review your Witness Votes !

in Threespeak7 days ago

My vote is still active!

Speaking of which, while checking, I took the opportunity to remove my vote from witnesses who continue to signal 15% or even 20% HBD interest and switched to witnesses signalling 12%, 10% or lower. It is actually quite surprising to see several witnesses who were at HiveFest in KL in October STILL continuing to signal 15%-20% for HBD.

for what it's worth, the counterargument to lowering apr when hive isn't too great is that it could encourage hbd holders to exit hive which could put even more downpressure on hive.

While ocd-witness never signalled for 20% and stayed steadfast at 15% as one of the first, we do intend to lower it as prices stabilize.

I noticed your unvote recently so saw this comment, hope you don't mind. We've had a lot of unvotes cause we never signalled 20% and now many unvoting cause we're signalling too high. :D

My projects and my own account hold no hbd so I'd just wanna make it clear this isn't being signalled for self-interest, pun not intended, but according to arguments that it's better to lower it when hive is doing better - hopefully soon!

Appreciate you being active in governance voting either way!

Thanks @acidyo for your considered response. It seems we are in something of a catch 22 situation. The high interest (which I used to support as an HBD investor) creates too much inflation and puts downward pressure on the price of HIVE, while lowering the interest rate risks suppressing the price of HIVE even further if HBD holders dump their HBD... Perhaps we should boil the frog one degree at a time and lower the rate to 14% ... then 13% and so on.

Oh, I just noticed that HBD apr is now 14% (on Hive.blog but still 15% on PeakD)!
