RE: SOP For Community-Driven Identification of Dangerous Persons

in Threespeak3 years ago

He is speaking of dangerous activity for flagging, in general we can downvote all that other stuff normally or you can join a downvote train to downvote it as a group. Usually if its not pushing violence or something that wouldn't be covered under freedom of speech anyways, no one seems to want to stop it, we just downvote it. The more mainstream the platform gets the less batshit fake news I have been seeing, same with anti science, but itll be like any other social platform. Most of the people crying about "censorship" on other platforms are still posting the same shit on said platforms / their views they are pushing are often not covered by freedom of speech / they don't understand that a private organization doesn't owe them a plaform / etc. As you said, hard topic. I think focusing on pedophiles or extremists using the platform to push their not just illegal activities, but also unethical by most standards, or as the OP said, dangerous to the community. We don't need, nor should we be, vigelantes about this, but we can take some basic steps to try and secure ourselves, and the many children on the platform, against such users. First step is discussing it.
